Again, if your premise is that it will require entire states to act, then secession most assuredly won't be happening, ever.

It has happened once it can happen again. Look when the "mother of all financial crises" hits the world and we go into Great Depression II the country will fragment, you now it and I know it. I cannot envision a scenario where the USA does not fragment.

Easiest thing for a state like Texas to get back on its feet following a collapsed Depression scenario is to unhitch form the swamp thing on the Potomac.

Louisiana and Texas control the bulk of the oil refineries in the states. Try it and in three days the big cities starve.

Yeah, freeze a Yankee!!!

In the event of a massive crisis, I could see the dissolution of many countries, including the US, as we know them. What I question is whether such a crisis will occur — strictly speaking, it should have a while ago. Those who hold the reins, so to speak, won’t let the horses run away with them, because they know that it wouldn’t help their end game. They’d much rather guide the US (and other countries) in a careful, gentle descent, letting people subconsciously acclimate to each new level of soft tyranny, until the population is cheerfully living in Hell on Earth and the 10 people left who refuse to have a microchip planted in their palm or forehead are “liquidated.”

As I recall, that didn’t work out so smoothly the last time it was tried.

But that won’t bother Thom. He’ll be sipping Chablis in a Manhattan penthouse while others are dying for his “brave words.”

You fought that war and lost.

From the site owner Jim Robinson:

Wont you ping JR and tell him he is full of excrement.

Don't be so sure. If libtards are anything, they're zealots. Brainless borg who all step to the same tune. If Thom has any credibility and power, he'd have an army of pajama-boy drones willing to die for him.

Granted, they wouldn't be a particularly effective fighting force ...

LMAO!!!!....liberals are only a threat when they run in packs.

You’d have to get the PJ brigade away from their I phones first.

Come on guys. We don’t want another Civil War do we?

Look at the costs of the Civil War in 620,000 lives lost (Union = 389,753 / Confederate = 289,000) and not counting other casualties. That includes the finest young men of that generation lost or maimed. And remember the population was around 31 million or about 1/10 the size of the current population. The impact was tremendous.

Also the destruction of property was extensive. Most of the destruction occurred in the South. They don’t call it “Reconstruction” for nothing. Railroads, buildings, livestock, and others things had to rebuilt or replaced. I don’t think either side won, but rather both sides lost.

From our perspective, it was a War over States Rights. It wasn’t about slavery. If so, we are owed reparations for the lives our loved ones lost in battle, the loss of agricultural labor by the abolition of slavery, the destruction of our property and infrastructure, and the general disrespect of our Southern culture by invading Union forces.

All we wanted to do was secede, form a Confederacy of like minded states, and live our lives as we saw fit without Union interference. We didn’t force any state to leave the Union and join our Confederacy to my knowledge.

Yes, the Confederacy took a licking, but we are still ticking today. Some of the old forgotten issues have been dredged up again by the liberals and socialists who would divide this nation. Southerners have never forgotten the good or bad of the war and our culture, but they have tried to leave the bad experiences in the past. The good has sustained us and we have prospered. Why can’t others respect our past as we do.

Some people predict the South will rise again, and it well may. If our Constitutional rights as States are continually denied and we are given no choice, we will push back through legislative means and finally Civil Disobedience, not war or secession as many would like to see. But if all Hell breaks loose, all bets are off. Hopefully we are better prepared than last time if there is to be a Civil War.

Respectfully, no one will win if there is another Civil War.

Unfortunately the f-ed up peace we have now is less tolerable than out and out secession. War only comes if FedGov™ wants one.

No need for out and out secession if states hold firm and claim their rights under the Constitution. It has become apparent that some states can legislate their laws and not be subject to federal laws while others are. Look at Colorado and others who have “legalized” marijuana. Look at others where voter-id has been declared unconstitutional.

The federal government has become too big and endeavors to intrude into our lives in all matters. What we need is freedom for an over-reaching ever-larger bureaucratic federal government, its politically correct socialist laws, and courts that legislate laws. They are no longer believe they are accountable to us, the citizens of the Republic.

Right now the federal government’s basic responsibilities to us are being ignored. Border security and immigration enforcement to name two. Not to mention, the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendments.

Time and time again states have legislated their laws and have been over-turned by the federal courts in areas where the courts have no Constitutional jurisdiction. It seems like we are being ruled entirely by another country, called Washington D.C.

To hell with states rights. All bow to Caesar. As tolerance is denied us and tyranny becomes more obvious, we will be forced into acts of civil disobedience. And you are right. It will be up to the federal government to play it’s hand and enforce its will. At that time the only option might be Civil Insurrection and war.

I am surprised at the number of people who are oblivious to what is happening around them. These are the people whose lives heavily rely on and are controlled by the federal government. They are totally unprepared for what’s coming.
