Trump campaign loses top adviser

A major political strategist has left Donald Trump’s 2016 GOP presidential candidate, a new report says — but it’s unclear who severed the relationship.

Roger Stone is no longer aiding the outspoken billionaire’s quest for the White House, according to CNN.

Reports conflicted on Saturday over whether Stone’s departure was a firing or a resigning, the news outlet added.

“Mr. Trump fired Roger Stone last night,” a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign told CNN on Saturday.

“We have a tremendously successful campaign and Roger wanted to use the campaign for his own personal publicity. He has had a number of articles about him recently and Mr. Trump wants to keep the focus of the campaign on how to make America great again.”

Stone contradicted that version of events, CNN said, by providing the media organization with his resignation letter Saturday.

“Unfortunately, the current controversies involving personalities and provocative media fights have reached such a high volume that it has distracted attention from your platform and overwhelmed your core message,” the document says. “With this current direction of the candidacy, I no longer can remain involved in your campaign.”

“I care about you as a friend and wish you well,” Stone also reportedly tells Trump in the letter. “Be assured I will continue to be vocal and active in the national debate to ensure our nation does not again turn to the failed and distrusted Bush/Clinton families.”

Stone elaborated further on his exodus from the Trump political machine in a post on his Twitter Saturday afternoon.

“Sorry @realDonaldTrump didn’t fire me – I fired Trump,” he tweeted. “Disagree with diversion to food fight with @megynkelly away core issue messages.”

Trump inspired national shock by criticizing Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly on Friday evening, after a verbal exchange the night before.

Kelly, a moderator in the GOP’s first televised presidential debate Thursday, interrogated Trump over his past remarks towards women.

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her – wherever,” Trump told CNN host Don Lemon on Friday night.

Critics have since pounced on Trump’s statement as crude and demeaning.

It also got the reality TV star disinvited from the RedState Gathering, an annual conservative forum taking place this weekend in Atlanta.

The New York business mogul’s presidential campaign responded by defending its figurehead in a statement published Saturday morning.

“Mr. Trump made Megyn Kelly look really bad – she was a mess with her anger and caught totally off guard,” Trump’s political team said in a statement.

“Mr. Trump said, ‘blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever,’ meaning her nose, and wanted to move on to more important topics,” it said. “Only a deviant would think anything else.”

The GOP’s crowded 2016 field has since dogpiled on Trump, sensing vulnerability in the frontrunner for their party’s nomination.

Multiple Republican White House hopefuls have denounced the real estate kingpin’s rhetoric as an embarrassing gaffe.

“It’s not manly to attack women. And stupid as hell.”

Do you think leftist females are chivalrous or even civilized? The western femi-Nazis will cut your nuts off without a second thought and hang them around your neck. In combat zones, female bombers are blowing up women, children and babies all over the Middle East, including Israel. Female Nazis in American abortion clinics are butchering babies and selling body parts.

Not manly to attack women my ass.

You need to rethink what century you’re living in.

It was indefensible as it always is when a man makes crude comments about women. Trump has a history of it. It’s not right in my books.

It’s not rocket science. You attack Hillary on all her lies and failings. But not her looks. Leave that to 15 year old boys.

I think she’s right not because of what he said but because he’s let them make it all about him all the time. I thought he was smarter than that but they found his achilles heel, ego.

He should be talking about what he would do for America, not Megan Kelly.

TROUNCE TRUMP = ELECT JEB BUSH..... UP TO YOU ... YOU GET WHAT YOU GET...

Pushing Trump out of the picture will assure a rocket rise of Jeb Bush to the top with all of the GOP/RNC / U.S. Chamber of Commerce...

Trump’s presence in the race is the only reason Conservatives like Cruz get heard... without Trump it will fast become JEB JEB JEB JEB ... with hundreds of millions of dollars to push it.

So, he still supports Trump, but did he get fired?

It’s one thing to be chivalrous toward family, community and church.

It’s a whole different matter to act like a coward toward leftist females who want to destroy your family, nation and your soul.

Trump recently had a meeting with Cruz and recently gave money to the Cruz campaign. Politicians change allegiances to gain political leverage - an age old political fact.

Facebook is ablaze with support for Trump and ire for MeGYN Kelly... about 70/30 to 80/20

Trump will survive everything that will be thrown at him. Kelly was way out of line. Trump had to push back — other politicians would have just put their tail between their legs and waddled off.

The Washington Cabal is trying to injure Trump — not the huge percentage of voters.

I am voting for Cruz but would take a Trump / Cruz ticket in a N.Y. Minute...

Get rid of Trump and you will get the Romney story revisited - just put Jeb’s name in Romney’s place. With Trump gone - the Jeb backers will then focus of savaging all the Conservatives in the race - just as Romney’s backers savaged ever single Conservatve in the race in the previous Presidential Primaries...

If you want Jeb Bush — then go about pissing of Trump - it is that simple.

Isn’t it possible for someone of average intellect to do just that and leave out the bullying remarks? Hey, it’s up to him. If he really wants to win this he better listen to someone who makes sense.

You know, that’s a big deal. I mean it. When you’ve been friends for over 3 decades, for Stone to walk NOW, in the middle of this is kind of unsettling.

Stone is kinda sleazy, but regardless - this is a friend- not just a political advisor. It lends some credence to his saying Trump is surrounding himself with yes men- never a good sign.

I’m trying hard to stay objective...I was cheering Trump on for what he was saying about illegal immigration etc...but actually seeing him as president? Helluva stretch for me. Eight years of blind worship to a cult figure is enough for one country.

I don’t believe that most freepers will “follow the media clown parade.” I won’t...nor will you or any on this site.

I am talking about the majority of people who rely on the MSM for their news. They have sunk many a good person. Can you argue that fact?

One can hit back hard without stepping on landmines.

“how he would treat critics as president”

My fear as well.

I was ambivalent about Trump in the beginning. I agreed with much of what he said. But wasn’t quite sure.

The man will have to stand up to critics as president. I keep seeing him at the Oval Office, moved the “red button” to the desk because it’s more convenient. Queen Elizabeth says his hair is goofy...BAM...England is a dark spot.

He is wheels off, imho.

If Trump was a wheels off goofball he wouldn’t be worth nine billion and be doing business negotiations all over the world.

I never said he was a goofball did I?

I said he is wheels off. Sorry, but I believe that. I don’t care how much money he has. I truly think that doing business all over the world is vastly different than being the chief representative of our country.

I was cheering him in the beginning. I thought he did a great job of holding his temper during the debate. But then he lost it.

He is thin skinned. He admits it. Dang it...we already have one of those.

And just for the record...I am not in anyone’s camp. But I am taking the names of people I WON’T vote for. I have never not voted...this ould be the first time in my life.
