Eric is as much a king maker as Goodman is a king but they may have matching DNA.

But what’s the snark about “making a scene?”

I meant there was no need for RUSH to make a scene about it. He doesn't say, I'm through with Eric, he just doesn't call him to sub, that's all. No snark intended.

I have listened to Rush fairly regularly since 1990. But if he votes “Present” on the Erickson rhubarb, that will change.

Want Erickson off the Rush show? Easiest way to do it is don’t listen when he is subbing. The metrics will drop to a point where Rush’s advertisers will do the talking or the walking.

No way Rush defends Erickson if an advertiser tells Rush that it is either Erickson of them.

Mark Davis strikes me as a thinker. He’s the Dennis Prager of Texas!

Wow, I've never heard Davis utter anything but obvious banalities or out and out mistakes. He's not even close to Prager intellectually.

Rush is very bright. If he decides not to allow this jerk to sit in for him he won’t announce it; he’ll just not do it. No one will know the difference until it is a non-issue. Rush doesn’t need anyone so if he does ask someone in it will always be to help him hold audience. Red faced won’t do that ergo no Red face.

Managed to catch that portion of the show. Rush quickly swept the Erickson issue aside with that single terse statement and then proceeded with a much longer rambling about how Trump is what Trump is. But to me it seemed Rush was distancing himself far more from Trump than from Erickson.

I didn't hear that, but tells me EE is on the Rush sh-t list. And now I wonder what Rush will say/think about EE's glowing fawning introduction of the Jebster. That should seal the deal. As for Rush distancing himself from Trump, I don't think in proportion he's done nearly enough of that. Yes, technically he's said he's NOT endorsing Trump - but for weeks his show has been all Trump all the time and not a word (that I've heard) about Trump's liberal tendencies.

Mark Davis is Bill Bennett’s regular Friday guest host, so I doubt Rush will use him anymore.

Rush should have Chris Plante from WMAL.

Rush knows Trump, Cruz or Carson are our best chance to beat the hag. Clinton plays dirty enough that Bernie will be doomed to fail but she can’t blindside him this early and risk all the union votes sitting out on her out of rage. She’ll take him out last and it will be something she can blame on GOP for damn sure. She and Huma sit home at night and laugh at GOP theatre, plotting and planning. Watching politics reminds me of the Corleone wedding.

Though Rush is in a bit of a conundrum here.

Can he acquiesce to an email and Twitter campaign to get Erickson off the air, and at the same time resist similar campaigns by the Michael J. Fox/Sandra Fluke crowd to take HIM off the air?

While I am thrilled that Trump and Carson are doing what they're doing, I have my doubts about their long term viability. I've thought since his 2013 filibuster than Cruz would ultimately win the nom and the Oval. I still do. I see this Trump thing playing out just right for him. And I'm not sure Rush is there yet, though I wrote an article a few months ago that the GOP nomination will run through the "Rush Levin Breitbart" primary so to speak.

I think Rush and Levin will get there openly at some point.

>> I have it on good authority that he never listens to his guest hosts <<

Interesting. Going back 20 years or more, I've often thought it curious that Rush -- contrary to the practice of other radiotalkers -- almost never thanks his guest hosts or even acknowledges them.

(Maybe Rush's habit may seem a bit ingracious. But then, who am I to tell him how to succeed in business?)

Well I have two major problems with that statement. First, it's false....in fact, he almost always does it after pretending his staff has made him do it. Its show craft.

But more to the point - Rush is the one DOING THE FAVOR here and the subs are GETTING THE FAVOR DONE FOR THEM. And they're paid. And they'd kill for the opportunity. It makes careers. It made Hannity's career period. Made many others...though some destroyed their own. They should THANK him (and many do in fact).

“I have my doubts about their long term viability.”

I’ve heard that line stated endlessly, and no one, as of yet, has given any particular reason why it is so. I supposed people are counting on group think to convert it into reality. What Trump is saying now, I have heard him say for many, many years. Therefore, it is safe to think that he sincerely believes in what he is saying, and what he is saying is evidently what quite a number of people are thinking. I remember when Reagan announced, and his announcement was greeted with about the same degree of skepticism —he’s an actor, he’s too old, he’s too conservative, etc.

I don’t think Davis subs anymore, now that he’s on Salem networks. I simply don’t get why he’s so popular.
