Algebra has a long list of contributors. The muslims got their volume- one of five of Diaphantus’ “mathematica” works - by extortion and violence. Then Al Khwarizmi took an interest, translated it,,, then posted his name to it. He and some others took an interest and expanded it...yes... co did DesCartes, Newton and many others. Prior to the greeks, the first evidence of Algebra is by the mesopotamians... on clay tablets. Babylonians had a hand in it too
