This article was written as if a “wormhole” (as most of us understand the term) was created with magnets. But reading the article that’s not what happened at all. They simply invented a device that (as far as I can tell) separates and shunts a magnetic field away from it’s source and hides the process so it APPEARS magically to be at a distance from its source. It’s cool but it’s sleight of hand. Not magic. Not “extra special dimensions”.
This like when popular news articles refer to a Pepper ‘s ghost, a video image reflected in a pane of glass, as a ‘hologram’. There is advanced technology invoked that is actually not there.

That’s what I got from it also.
My understanding of a Wormhole is that it folds space-time bringing two distant (nanometers or/to lightyears) points together, with the ability to move from point a to point b (space) in a fraction of the time the transport would normally take.
Their idea of this technology as a cloak was intriguing, though.
