Very interesting. Until today I had not heard of the Royal Eight Escudo coin. Fewer than 20 known in the world today?

Well the Oak Island I’m thinking of is an actual place off Nova Scotia. Didn’t know there was a show by that name.

Show is "Curse of Oak Island". It is about the Lagina Brothers, who now own the treasure rights to the majority of the island, and their renewal of the search.

This summer is their third summer on the island. The first year they did some cursory research and work on the island, then last summer they did more intensive searching, scans and excavations. Actually found a couple Spanish coins on the interior of the island, and "tantalizing clues" that there may actually be a vault of some type at the bottom of the famous money pit.

This summer (the new season of the show some time in the fall) they are supposedly doing a full scale archeological dig/survey of the money pit and surrounding tunnels, etc.

I first read about Oak Island back in junior high about a half century ago. I’ve been fascinated by the story ever since. It’s about time someone found some doggone treasure.
