Heres a fun one for all of our beloved gun owners out there. Boston just reinstated its Your Piece for Peace gun buyback program this past Wednesday, despite the fact that the tally this year has amounted towait for itone single firearm.
Thats a massive undercut from 2014s intake of 410 guns. Theres no question why the total number is down: The gun buybacks numbers clearly arent on the same level as the guns taken a year ago, police spokesman Officer James Kenneally said. According to him, though, the program's lack of success isnt enough to shut it down: As long as theres funding, its an option we can provide to community members.

Great choice of words there, Officer Kenneally.
“Your Piece for Peace
Well it wasn’t plural, right? ;)
Maybe the feral “youth” want to keep their guns????
I wonder about gun buy back programs. How many such guns were stolen in the first place? Maybe some enterprising gang members stole guns to then sell them in the buy back program?? Certainly I’m not the only person to have thought of that??
As to this experiment, I think a more interesting question is: Of the 410 guns taken last year, how many were in working condition? A dollar-to-a-doughnut that a pretty high percentage were unusable and, hence, fewer unworking guns left to turn in this year.
In my county/state, we’re allowed to buy/sell guns at yard sales. I have a friend who buys ‘trashed-out’ guns at yard sales just to sell them at these gun buy-backs. I’ve seen him buy rusted pistols/rifles for $10-$25.00.
Now they can claim that Boston is gun-free, because no one turned in their guns.

At one of these gun buy back things didn’t someone bring a fake rocket launcher that consisted of a cardboard poster tube painted silver or wrapped in duct tape?
Imagine if that’s the case! Craft some garbage to look like a weapon, get 200 dollars a pop!
Next time I see a buyback in Memphis, I think I’ll turn in one of these.

I’ve seen firearms at yard sales from time to time in Maine, too.
That sucks. How is the mayor to add to his private collection if gun owners won’t cooperate?
