I am using Office 2003. In Word, how do I change the font type and size (the default is Arial, size 10). Thanks, and yes, I know Office 2003 is old... so am I.

No problem. Do you want to change the font for one document or for every document?

Word font sizes are changed via the font menu which will give you options for font type (Times New Roman, Courier, etc.) and size.

Look at the line that reads "Normal" " Times New Roman" "12". These are your font options.

OK, it depends on if you only want to change the font in a current document or so it will use that Font as the standard for all new docs you create...

The quick one for a document you are working on goes like this...

To slect a word or part of a sentence double click on the word or click down and select the text, it will highlight showing what you chose
go to the menu at the top and locate the fonts tb, slelect the font you want and it will change

If you want to make it forever let me know and I will walk you through that, not too hard at all

Glad I could help,

God Bless

Rev Steve

I don’t know about 2003, but in 2007, my edition, there is a small pulldown box next to the FONT in the toolbar that will let you change the default.................hope this helps................

I am always happy to see Word, and generally all Microsoft Office threads because MS keeps changing and updating the damned things.

I also have a new stubborn problem.

I recently replaced my old Pentium 4 Windows 7 desktop for a newer Windows 8.1 and have installed Office 2013.

Word and Excel are the workhorses for me.

There seems to be an endemic long-standing flaw(?) in Word, including Word 2013 that creates a blank page on a one page document that is like a vampire. Can't kill it.
I've tried every solution I can find on line without success. Any Freeper ideas? It's not a huge problem, just a constant irritation.

Any ideas would be welcome.

For every email. The Font selection works only for a specific email.

I have not ventured into Word 2013 so this is just a stab:

Try viewing the document in Outline format (View tab:Outline under “Views”) this should reveal all of the markup items and show you if a “New Page” control mark is inserted.

Select "File" then "Options". Select "Mail" and then "Stationary and Fonts".
