I am not so sure. I don’t think they have one iota of an idea of what it truly takes to survive. Good luck to them!
I live in Central NH just south of the mountains. I agree it’s good - not quite as good as NE Vermont or Northern ME, but, you’ve gotta make a living waiting for the apocalypse.
The big issue I see for the Belize and New Zealand crowd is, how are the blue-eyed ones going to make out there after the collapse?
If you think blue eyes will be ruling over the natives after it all goes down, then fine, go to Central America or Aotearoa.
If you think blue eyes will need to have sufficient population density to look out for themselves and their own, then you can’t do better than Northern New England.
Many are the times that men have cried out for God’s end because some natural or man made catastrophe.
I agree prepping won’t help you through Armageddon, but there is plenty that can happen a few knotches down on the SHTF Scale.
“I dont think they have one iota of an idea of what it truly takes to survive.”
I agree. That’s the point. I’m suggesting they’ll bring enough ‘worker bees’ to do the heavy lifting so that they will survive (although their ‘workers’ may not).
I could be wrong; it’s just my guess.
Which works for the first winter. After that I can’t see the hedge fund managers cutting and stacking their own firewood...the second winter may be ...interesting...
However, from what I can gather, these super rich still place their trust in riches, rather than God. That never, ever works out.
Nervous financiers from across the globe have begun purchasing landing strips, homes and land in areas such as New Zealand so they can flee should people rise up. With growing inequality and riots such as those in London in 2011 and in Ferguson and other parts of the USA last year, many financial leaders fear they could become targets for public fury.
Robert Johnson, president of the Institute of New Economic Thinking, told people at the World Economic Forum in Davos that many hedge fund managers were already planning their escapes. He said: I know hedge fund managers all over the world who are buying airstrips and farms in places like New Zealand because they think they need a getaway." Mr Johnson, said the economic situation could soon become intolerable as even in the richest countries inequality was increasing. As for us, we trust in God first. I think it is God that has been compelling me to be prepared in case basic services go down and to have enough food and water on hand for contingencies.
If the riots start, the mobs don't care what your bank account is. They will attack or murder you based on what they think they can steal from you. Period.
We have figured it takes at a minimum 400 men, women and children to make a sustainable situation. That’s families ranging from 3-5 or 6 children. Men are more necessary for protection and heavy lifting than anything. Women and children can do many if not most of the farm chores, but it’s the protection that is necessary for the group to survive. Three, rotating shifts of security (8 hours each) and those broken down into shifts so everyone is on their tip toes at all times. This will only work if you make it through the first six months of anarchy. I don’t think the super rich will make it because in our scenario it is God-centered, and a cloistered kind of community. If only money has lured to the fix, then they’ll realize real quick that the money is no good anymore and the rooster is the most valuable thing in the village. The idiots revolt and Mr. billionaire is a nobody with no money and no one who cares.
That’s why bugging out doesn’t work. The money won’t be worth anything and they won’t be tied together by anything other than brute force. Bye Bye Billionaire.
There’s nothing like fresh eggs from free range chickens that can eat insects and such in addition to their feed.
Exactly. I know some people who went to Central America to buy their "dream home." They retired there, and have a good life. But my wife and I both said that folks like them would be the first ones with their throats cut if things go sideways.
Have you ever watched "House Hunters International" or "Paradise Hunt"? Interesting shows, and they teach you about what real estate prices are in places like Italy, France, the UK, Aruba, Cost Rica, Chile, the Azores, etc.
But some of those people don't have a frickin clue that they are fish out of water. You can tell many of them cashed out their stocks and decided to live their vacations 365. They want their "beautiful view" and the "great village life and shopping nearby."
But if things go bad, God help them.
Interesting - thanks.

Agreed. Many of the super rich are behaving like fugatives who have done something wrong. The truth is, many of the have. The markets are a rigged game, and many (not all, but many) of them got super rich by breaking the rules and laws. They also know that if things collapse, their either have a great big giant target on their forehead, or they are the focus of a lot of envy.
I will do my best given the scenario, but as I said, I trust in God first. The super rich seem to trust in their riches.
“Nothing the Rapture “
You arrogantly assume if there is a Rapture you are selected.
And on a desert island, they will soon run out of supplies and starve to death - unless they find a way to re-supply themselves.
I've analyzed this every possible way and I can envision no scenario where a "prepper" can survive in isolation long term. Eventually, the hordes will find them and as you state, torture and kill them if they do not "share" their accumulated supplies.
In actuality, the best way to prepare for a TEOTWAWKI event is to know some trades and be an asset to the community. If you know how to frame a house, do basic plumbing, perform basic medical procedures, etc., you will always have your skills in demand and will likely be one of the ones that don't starve to death in such a situation. If you think you are going to get away with cocooning yourself in some "bug out" spot with your cache of supplies, you will be exposed and found out very soon.
Thanks be to God that He has touched both of us ...
Thank you for the links. I shal study the content and p[erhaps get back to you. Having read post #39 that you linked to, I am not in total agreement at this stage. I believe the Church Jesus has been building will be snatched away before the mid way of the Tribulation seven years, years which I am convinced we have already entered.
Warning others to seek Him now is not arrogant either. Seek, stop spittling, seek Him while you can.
In fact, in many nations you are safer than in many part os America.
But I also know the world is a very dangerous place, and Americans stick out like they have a sign on their foreheads. I spent many years in the military traveling through a lot countries, and I observed that in other nations there was even less "law" than here and the line between safety and crime/death/robbery was very thin.
Heck, I even knew an aircrew that was abducted, tortured, and held by the Panama government pre-invasion 1990, and these guys were military!
Even if you are there to help, or you are connected, you can have things like this:
American Woman in Nepal for Earthquake Relief Beaten to Death, Dumped in River
Some of my children have lived in third world countries by serving Jesus Christ through missions. I worried about them all the time. But I knew that God was in control. I have also read about Christians in Africa who would have been murdered and tortured, but God was protecting them. That is the ultimate in protection - the Almighty.
America has become a fascist dictatorship, so we have nothing to crow about either. But having said that, I advise people to watch their back in some of these "paradise" lands. The locals can see you coming from a mile ahead. To many of them, you are easy prey with a fat wallet.
“From what I have read, expats are treated very well in Belize.”
Up front, I haven’t been in Belice since the 80’s, but I used to joke that Belice City was the rear-end (modified language) of the Western world. The jungles and beaches are beautiful, but come with their own inherent physical dangers. I suppose if a person moved there and went native/local, they wouldn’t be AS appealing a target since they wouldn’t have more than natives/locals. If on the other hand a person moved there and created a lush standard of living simply being comparable to living in the USA, they’d have a big ol bulls eye painted on them out of just being one of the “haves” instead of a “have not”. I always saw/used Belice as a country to go ‘through’ to get somewhere else, and NOT a place I wanted to live. But things probably have changed a lot since I was last there.
Amen!!!
I think the best situation is a compromise between the two worlds. I like the idea of having enough food to feed my family for months or more, enough gardening/hunting/whatever to easily double that time without trade, enough self-defense capability to protect people and property, and enough skills to trade as soon as that option becomes safe. If things get ugly (which I hope will not happen, but that is the path the socialists have chosen), I like an "all of the above" strategy.
The hard part is the "community". Obama voters who retain that life view are not my community. I will not share with evil parasites - voluntarily or involuntarily. The transition from a welfare economy to a smaller economy (and smaller population) in which only those who work will eat is likely to be unpleasant.
