Can someone explain to me why no one supported Scott Walker?

Once again, I don't get it.

Here are some dopey cliches not to use in your answers:

He “didn’t resonate”. He “wasn’t ready for prime time”. He “failed to gain traction”. He was “a wallflower in the debates”.

Stop it. I can talk like a Chuck Todd too, but what good would that do anyone?

You want to not only win the presidency, but you want to elect someone who is not only conservative but has proven he can achieve difficult conservative goals even in a very hostile environment - right?

Yes, you could tell immediately when he began waffling and not directly commenting on his position(s) immediately. The GOP consultant class relieved him of his campaign funds and then moved on.

Yep. He brought in all the wrong people from Washington to direct his campaign. He went from a clear plain spoken 'doer' to a waffling, weather vane who couldn't express a point. Meanwhile, the DC consultants drained the money he raised on their people while his number collapsed. I was really excited about him last spring, as he showed me a lot in his early speeches. This one is sad to me....not just the dropout, but the 4 month collapse.

Which brings up yet ANOTHER question about Walker “Just WHAT really did he believe”?

I have absolutely no recollection of Mittens ever being taken seriously on immigration. On the contrary, he was being bashed for flip flopping on Arizona’s immigration law and for all his other double speak.

why no one supported Scott Walker?

****************

Well that is slightly incorrect in that Walker was polling in the double digit range
until the end of July, 2015. His support went other places for some reason.

He didn’t distinguish himself from a large crowd. His campaign manager failed to tell him he needed to come off as a cross between Thomas Paine and John F. Wayne.

I liked what I heard early on, admire what he ‘s done in Wisconsin under extreme pressure. But the US ain’t WI, and he was not ready for the national stage. Hope he’s the Secretary of Labor in the next presidential cabinet.

Like Cruz, Carson, and Trump, he’s irrelevant, and we won’t be talking about them in even passing by this time next year. Carly or someone like Jeb will be the only ones in the running by next year.

That.

He was ruined by his corrupt campaign consultants. And he didn’t have enough sense to ditch them. He gave in to them. He did what they said to do. Now they have pockets full of money and he’s toast.

I never had any problems with him. He just wasn’t my guy.

I think he would have been far superior than Carson, Fiorina, or Trump but I don’t support any of them either.

Other candidates showed more strength and spoke out for positions the base supports.

Agreed. It almost felt like he hadn’t solidified his platform then made it up as he went. His positions seemed to evolve from conservative to RINOesque. In addition to being distasteful it made him seem indecisive. An indecisive leader is the last thing the country needs at this time.

” Walker fell into the GOP-e “soup” and drowned. He was “Consulted” to death!”

You just might be on to something, however in the scheme of things, one less candidate can’t be all bad. Now if we could narrow the field to three?

Agree 100%. He did himself no favors when he hired his consultants.

What he needed to do was to call Rosie a “fat broad” and call all his opponents “losers”.

Heh, heh, heh...methinks that’s probably true...

Also he needed bigger hair...

Bingo.

Walker gushed two years ago about making it so easy for absolutely anyone from any country, “including Mexico”, to come here legally that there’d be no reason to cross the border illegally. Therefore, he said that would solve the border question as well.

I was one of those who had Walker at the top of my list.

Walker got bad advice, and hired people who were sent to make sure that he failed. The "big donor" class does not want immigration shut down, and so any candidate who is dependent on big-money donors can't really take an anti-immigrant position.

The advantage of Trump is that he does not depend on the "big money donor" class (the GOP establishment).
