The fact that these people sold their credits for half shows they obviously did not need the assistance for food.
Anybody surprised that it’s a highly privileged member of a government certified victim group?
Unscrupulous people take advantage of every single benevolent opportunity there is. I know a local woman -— single, no kids, full time job -— who goes to the local food bank all the time to get her food, and meat for her multiple pit bulls and 20+ cats. SHE doesn’t see a problem with feeding “free food” to her dogs and cats, or with taking “free food” despite her obvious lack of need. Sadly, people have mentioned this to the food bank, but they don’t want to be “judgmental” and deny her food. Multiply this by hundred of thousands who are told by commercials every day that they “deserve” whatever it is they want -— “deserve” being a relatively new advertising direction that is popping up in more and more ads in the last few years. We have developed a culture of “takers” -— and woe to us if/when the giving ceases.
