The stories of their children being cut down in the drug wars demonstrates the price for their deception; they live in dangerous areas and sacrifice their children for their own laziness/theft...
This is part of my issue with the whole "no child hungry" movement and "25% of our children don't know where their next meal will come from" idea. With all the school breakfast and lunch programs (which continue through the summer months), plus SNAP, WIC, and numerous food charities, the only way kids are going hungry is if their parents are neglecting them or defrauding the system. And you can't fix that problem by throwing more money at it.
