Russia doesn’t care.

Except that they’ve been publicly saying this is one of their goals. That’s why the Russian Church has called it a “holy war.” You may question Russia’s sincerity, but that’s their public position. Actually, it’s Obama and McCain who visibly don’t care about Middle Eastern Christians, because they’ve been financing terrorists who are killing them.
