Neighbor Shoots Rampaging Wild Hog

200+ pound feral hog pictured above was causing considerable damage when one of the neighbors shot the pig with a .40 caliber handgun.  From wbtv.com in North Carolina.

Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement responded to the 4000 block of Wimbledon Drive Sunday where there were reports of a vicious hog that had been charging residents in the area and damaging property, according to Captain Jentsch with the Gaston County Police Department.

Jentsch said that a neighbor shot the hog before Gaston County Police officers arrived on scene and euthanized the animal.

The reporter found a neighbor who complained about the armed citizen taking action:

MSM. Doesn’t fit their narrative. They know lots of little children will see that picture and think it was a doggie and start crying inconsolably. Then the parents will contact their congressmen and demand something be done about all the bitter clingers out there running around like Annie Oakley shooting the place up. Might turn into a new gun control movement. Hey, it’s worth a shot. Anything for gun control.

Friends of ours raise pigs and when the husband goes out in the pen the wife watches from the kitchen with a shotgun. God help you if you were to fall!

Feral hogs do NOT amble about as singular wild animals do.

There are more about. This one decided that the owner’s territory was his, and was ready to show it.
