Because RINO and “GOPe” has become the most overused phrases in politics so legitimate candidates like Cruz who can beat Clinton don’t get a shot.

As a fellow Cruz supporter I share your frustration, although I do prefer Carson over Trump.

I think it’s best for Cruz supporters to be patient and trust his game plan. We’re still in the early to mid stage.

I agree. Carson talks effectively about some pressing issues, but I do not see any leadership qualities in the man. He'd be great running some middle school in Wichita.

The anti-establishment fervor is real. I love Cruz, and think he is the best. But he is part of Washington.

Carson is not quite what everyone 'wants' him to be. And when some of the 'real' person seeps through, his sycophants bury their heads in the sand.

We saw the same adulations toward Fred Thompson in 2008, when too many were building him into what they wanted him to be, not what he was.

Isara posted a chart comparing Cruz, Carson and Trump on the major issues. That chart showed Carson with more unknowns than knowns.

Carson has too many ‘mixed’ views on the issues.

Color each green and he looks perfect to the conservatives.

Color each red and he looks like he should be appearing in the Democrat debates rather than in the Republican debates.

[A recent thread said he has been mostly independent and former Democrat until just about a year ago: EXCLUSIVE: Records show Ben Carson became Republican less than one year ago.]

When Cruz helped SECRET ObamaTRADE pass, he lost.

Period.

People were defending him for months, me too, but
could no longer.

I would accept Carson over most of them aside from Cruz. I think a lot of people have a reflexive need to support a black candidate.

He’s likeable and smart but he’s wrong on some important issues but I don’t see him as the type to actively subvert the constitution. I’d put him about 3rd on my list after Cruz and Jindal, (Despite Jindal’s bizarre tantrums recently).

My idea would be Cruz/Lee or Cruz/West

I have thought about posting the same type of vanity. I don’t understand a lot of things about Carson: who supported his startup before he started getting individual donations, that would explain a lot.

Who are his supporters specifically?

How large and often are his events?

How well organized is he?

His rate of acquisition of FB and twitter do not make sense to me ...

I don’t know anything about SDA but could a lot of his support be coming from them, do they have a large presence in the US?

No matter how hard I try, I can’t figure out what’s going on here... I read somewhere that he was a cash cow for his larger supporters, but I don’t know what that means.

PLEASE, HELP!!

I think it comes down to Americans being fed up with Politicians in general.

Although Ted Cruz is not part of the Capitol Hill gridlock problem, he's still seen as a politician and they always score low in the most admired people category.

We still have a long way to go until Nov. 2016, let's hope Senator Cruz continues to get out his pro-Constitution message to Americans.

I think most of those have had more exposure to Carson than Cruz and/or what they’ve heard about Cruz has been greatly affected by the media (who clearly hate & fear him).

Carson’s calm, quiet demeanor has much to recommend him. His abilities to learn and use information based on his experience as a surgeon is certain. He is a thoughtful man. He has executive experience in building organizations within the hospital and his foundation. He’s not afraid to stand up to those who oppose him. And, of course, he’s an outsider who is very likable.

IMHO, a vote for Carson a non-committal vote. I’d say they’re actually torn between Cruz and Rubio. They’ll rise and Carson will fall.
