Our FRiend Rodamala's cat, The Purr Monster, is in the Animal Hospital probably til this weekend, with urinary blockage. Poor Purr Monster is also in a great deal of pain.

Please, keep The Purr Monster In your thoughts, maybe if enough people think of him he can come home early and feel better.,

Good news!

He looks exactly like a cat we had (Max) long ago in Oregon (an adopted barn kitten).

He once swelled up like a giant toad frog because he was drinking but not peeing.

We drove 20 miles to the nearest vet. Got to the front desk and I'm holding him.

Out walks the Vet who tries to turn him over to take a quick look. Max grunts and out pops a small blockage .... and ole Max starts to pee, and pee, and pee.

I'm taking the worst of it because I'm holding him.

On a quick agreement from everyone, I head for the front door to get him outside to finish his peeapoclypse.

Max left a high volume (I'm talking firehose quality) urine trail across the lobby, across the parking lot, and over to the edge of the parking lot (just trying to let him get it all out).

After what seemed like forever, he slowly "ran out of juice" so to speak, and started the loudest purring I ever heard from him.

And if anybody thinks cats can't/don't give out huge self-satisfied smiles, they just didn't know Max.

That guy gave us a ton of memories, and lived to be 18 1/2 years old. Great cat was Max.

So glad to hear yours if on the way to coming home. Scratch him once for us.

I can envision that scene at the vet's office, perfectly. My 2 guys were from a litter of 4 that a neighborhood cat decided to have in the milkhouse, then abandon. When I found them they were no more than 3 days old... gave the mother a day to prove she was taking care of them, she failed, so it was up to me... I lost the runt right away, and then a second one suddenly took ill and died as I held her on my chest after a vet visit...

I had to bottle raise these guys all on my own.... that was an eye opening experience... especially the part about how newborn kittens only pee or poop because momma cat licks their nether regions to stimulate such. I opted for using a paper towel to get them going.... every. four. hours.

.
Outstanding!

Now keep him there.

Its been 15 years since we last brought a cat to a vet, and its never going to happen again.

Cats are healed by the same herbs that heal humans, and all that is needed is a little study, preferably in advance.

Very glad to see P.M. doing better. His cousins here wish him well. They are currently looking to get into unspecified mischief (Maine Coon) and playing (DSH rescue), activities they hope he can take up again soon.
