The cause as she wrote was: "I have a significant, but benign tumor near my ear that is pushing against a nerve (which hemorrhaged). It sounds bad but I have excellent care." I just recieved horrible news, and prayers would really be appreciated. My cousin Joe is a Marine. He was in Iraq for approximately six months. Before he joined the service, his mom begged him not to go because she was frightened something would happen to him. He tried college, but he ultimately couldn't give up his dream of being a marine. I just read on the Stand Firm in Faith site that there as been a very tragic accident involving a church bus from the First Baptis Church of Shreveport, La. The bus was on the way to camp when the accident happened in Meridan, Mississippi. One child died at the scene and 23 others have been taken to area hospitals.

Baby Jordan and his twin brother Landon were delivered last Friday night at 35 weeks due to Jordan's size (6.5 lbs)--mom has gestational diabetes...Landon was 4.5 lbs. My Aunt Violet Alexander passed away Friday. She was a giver, a good Christian, mother of three boys (all adults now) grandmother, and a long-time babysitter in her community. She even provided daycare to the members of the famous rock group "Slipknot" when they were tikes. A very good country cook, a warm, "diamond in the rough" type person, she was really there for me when my dad passed away in 2002. Our family and Des Moines has lost a good woman. We will miss her.
