Urgent prayer request From Snykerz | 07/16/2008 12:56:06 AM PDT Dearest Prayer Warriors:It’s been a long time since I have posted here on Freerepublic, but I remember how much you had helped me out with the prayers I had requested for my older sister Sherryl, and she is doing well. Now here I am again asking for your help.My younger sister “Lori” needs all the prayers that anyone can spare. She was admitted to the hospital ( Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, Ca) a little over a week ago with a kidney infection, which turned into Gram Negative...

Well, I'm just home from the ER and my sister Michelle needs your prayers. She had a teriible headache at work today. By the time she got home she was achy all over and feverish. She drove herself to the ER about 7:30. She had to be in a LOT of pain to actually want to go to the hospital. She called my Mother when she went in and made her promise not to call me because I was planning to leave town for a weeks vacation fishing and carrying on. Thank goodness, Mom didn't listen to her. When I...

Subject: Urgent Prayer Request Dear Family and Friends, I am writing to you today with a sense of urgency. I am asking that you pray for myself, my unit, and all coalition forces. Some of you may have heard through the news that the Taliban recently had a prison break in Kandahar City. Those reports are accurate. Between 500 to 1000 insurgents have escaped and are currently regrouping. I ask for prayers for protection for all of us and for all of the local nationals in Kandahar. We have received reports that the Taliban is going to try to attempt...

America has been greatly blessed by God and has stood as the greatest country in the history of the world for over 200 years. Fellow FReepers, My wife is up in upstate NY caring for her dying father. She and her sister are trying to make him comfortable at his home during his final days. She's an RN and fully understands his condition. He won't go to the hospital. He's had a pacemaker for over twenty years. He's very weak and she said, "He's going to die tonight!" He may not die but is in very bad shape. She is a good woman who needs help from God to help get her through this. Thanks, Ray

On Sunday, August 3, 3008, I am calling for a National Day of Prayer and Repentance. America has turned its back on God and I fear God has turned His face from us. Christians and Jews, we are the last "minority" it's safe to scorn and mock. No longer. It is time for us to reclaim our rightful Godly heritage and help return our nation to its ROOT, in the one, true God. Let us get on our knees on August 3, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time (7:00 a.m. Pacific) - at the same moment across the nation -...

DEARBORN, Mich. — Elias Al-Karim says he’s always gotten along well with his neighbors, who are evangelical Christians. But he was angered recently to learn that they had added his name, and the names of his wife and children, to Community Faith Center’s corporate prayer list. Elias called the church to complain. "We do not want prayer from Christians, and we did not ask for it," he told a reporter. "It’s a violation to pray for someone without their knowledge or consent." To ease tensions, the church did what many churches and ministries are increasingly doing: started a "do not...

Remember to take some time for prayer. This is the Lord's will. The worlds smallest bird, a hummingbird and as mentioned in the Bible, a sparrow, is always being noticed and looked upon by God.

Some of you know I physically cared for my mother for years. I want you to know that she passed away Tuesday, May 20, and I laid her to rest Friday in Colleyville (Fort Worth), Texas, next to my father. It is fitting at any time, but especially so this Memorial Day, to write a few words about her.She was 86.The World War II generation. The most important thing to her is that she was a Christian. The greatest love of doing in her life was teaching Bible classes to children and women. At that she was masterful, and even spent years...

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - Two New Zealand pilots whose plane ran out of fuel landed on a wing and a prayer, literally, local media reported on Wednesday. Grant Stubbs and Owen Wilson from Blenheim, at the top of the South Island about 50 kilometers (30 miles) south of Wellington, were in a microlight plane when the engine cut out. "When you're in a microlight if you crash, you usually die. I turned to O B (Wilson) and he said we had no fuel," Stubbs told the Marlborough Express newspaper. "I asked what we should do. He said: 'You just pray Grant.'"...

Can we please have a civilized thread offering our prayers for Sen. Kennedy and his family? He has just been diagnosed with brain cancer (glioma) which has a very poor prognosis. The moderators have already been forced to pull at least FOUR threads on this topic due to uncivilized posters. If you feel the urge to post something unkind, don't.

BOSTON - A cancerous brain tumor caused the seizure Sen. Edward M. Kennedy suffered over the weekend, doctors said Tuesday in a grim diagnosis for one of American politics' most enduring figures. ADVERTISEMENT Doctors for the Massachusetts Democrat say tests conducted after Kennedy suffered a seizure this weekend show a tumor in his left parietal lobe. Preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain identified the cause of the seizure as a malignant glioma. His treatment will be decided after more tests but the usual course includes combinations of radiation and chemotherapy. "I'm really sad," former Sen. Bob Kerrey, D-Neb.,...

From How Do I Start the First Saturdays? Why are there five First Saturdays and not seven, or nine? Lucia once asked this question of Our Lord and received as an answer: “My daughter, the motive is simple, there are five kinds of offences and blasphemies uttered against the Immaculate Heart of Mary: (1) blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception (2) blasphemies against Her Virginity (3) blasphemies against Her Divine Maternity (4) blasphemies in the hearts of those who openly seek to foster in the hearts of children indifference or even hatred for this Immaculate Mother (5) the offences of those who...

I have just received word that my niece is in the hospital and in very, very, very bad health. Her liver has failed and her kidneys are now failing. She is on the transplant list, but without a new liver she won’t be leaving the hospital. Please join with me in lifting her up to God for His healing and blessing, asking for a new liver for her. Prayers for her family are also appreciated.

Sad to say that an active Freeper, Rte66, has passed away. I am her sister and have been a lurker for many years. At this point we don't know exactly what happened but it seems to be natural causes. Please keep her in your prayers. I will post her obit in coming days. If anyone needs more info they can email me here. A memorial service is pending. Thank you for being her "online family". This was her lifeline for many years. And thank you all so much for your help to her. She was much loved and she will...

The best-known invocation in Christianity has its roots firmly in Jewish tradition. And, some believe the very public liturgy was meant as a protest against fixed, statutory, public prayer. Maybe McGuinty has a point Lord, what a fuss over a prayer. "So plainly simple, natural, and spontaneous," the Catholic Encyclopedia lauds the Lord's Prayer, yet, at a mere 57 words (in the original Greek), such a magnet for controversy in Ontario. The prayer's fall from public grace began in 1988, when the Ontario Court of Appeal, citing the province's multicultural nature, struck down a regulation that required public schools to...

Matt Moore, a fire captain in Murrieta, Calif., became seriously ill in November and doctors were initially baffled as to what was causing his sickness, according to the report. Moore, 43, is on life-support in a critical-care unit in San Diego. Late last month, doctors, using a brain biopsy, pinpointed the illness to parasitic meningoencephalitis, an extremely rare infection caused by the brain-eating amoeba Balamuthia mandrillaris, it is reported. "This has been a total nightmare," Moore's wife Sherry Moore, 42, told the Press Enterprise. "He's very, very sick, and the prognosis just doesn't look good. At this point, we're all...

A very good friend of mine is in urgent need of prayers. She is faced with a pregnancy that will not survive and will probably kill her. Her baby is developing with it's brain out side of it's skull. Her doctor has told her she needs to abort the baby as soon as possible as there is evidently some risk to herself as well. I know that there are many prayer warriors here at FR so I turned to you. Thank you in advance for the prayers.

My mom, at about 87, is going into Hospice tonight. She has "outlived the hardware" and has had a wandering mind for the past few years, but it has come to a head in the past 9 months or so, after my parents decided to get her a new knee. We have discovered all kinds of things dad wasn't mentioning after this point...aparently her kidneys were on the way to failing before the knee, and we found out about the problem when they did and she went into regular dialysis. She has been frail and in a nursing home for...

I found some Scripture references pertaining to the 2004 Presidential Election at the Presidential Prayer Team website. But the actual Scriptures were left out; only the references and the way in which we could apply them were listed. So I added the Scriptures (all are from the NIV). Many of us here are so concerned about the outcome of Tuesday's election. So PLEASE consider taking these Scriptures (and distributing to others, if you feel so compelled) to pray them for our country: Prayers for Election O God, Your plans are firm, faithful and forever. The purposes of Your heart prevail...

‘I’ve got good news and bad news. It looks like an encapsulated type growth with defined margins, which is good. The bad news is that there’s only one way to be sure. You can go with a core biopsy, but I prefer a surgical biopsy and I think your doctor does, too. That way the whole thing comes out.’’

I have been away for 16 days. Were it not for the actions of one man, it may have been much longer before I could be here, writing this, and maybe this writing may not have been possible. On December 3rd I was mugged by a falling tree, at least that is what the eyewitnesses say. My memory of the events begins only much later, when I here the voice of Rabbi Yehoshua Kaganoff telling me not to move, that everything is O.K., that the EMT crew is on the way - as sat holding me, with one arm around...

I need to ask for you guys to put someone in your thoughts and prayers. Someone I work with at a site, a young black woman with 2 little boys under 4 was diagnosed with skin cancer when she was pregnant with the second boy last year. Because she's so dark, the skin changes had gone undetected for years, and they got worse when she got pregnant the second time. Even the Drs were baffled with her skin problems at first, and she got lots of wrong diagnosis' and treatment, up until about a month before the baby was born...
