Please pray for my family. We were notified Monday night that our 41-year-son, Ryan, was found deceased in his home at 9 pm. He was on a new antidepressant that he said wasn’t working. He put his house on the market at 2:30 pm and decided to burn some leaves around the house to clean up the property. This caused a small brush fire that damaged his neighbor’s trailer, so the Fire Dept. was called and he received a citation.
My son has had a problem with alcohol throughout his adult life, but he hadn’t been drinking much in last few months. He decided to stop at a bar after the fire to relieve his stress and relax. He stayed 4 hours and his girlfriend had to pick him up. She said he was very drunk and she made him take a shower while she put his smoky clothes in the wash. During the 5 minutes she was gone, his demons won and he shot himself with a handgun.
He was our first born child and only son. We are beyond heartbroken and our family honestly doesn’t know how we’ll survive this loss. He was handsome with a charismatic smile. He had a quirky sense of humor and was very smart — he graduated from high school at 16-1/2. He was compassionate and caring, but was also selfish and stubborn. He didn’t like to tell ppl when he was having problems or want to ask for help.
He definitely made his mark where ever he went, and so many ppl from his past have come out of the woodwork to express their condolences. We knew he was loved, but his positive impact on so many ppl’s lives has been truly amazing to see.
Please take a moment to say a prayer for his soul and for strength for our family, as we desperately need to try to understand this tragedy.
Thank you.
Prayers up for your son’s soul and for you to find peace of mind.
Oh, how horrible.
I can’t imagine your suffering.
Please be assured of my prayers.
May God bless all of you.
We have a Great and Wonderful and merciful God. I pray that our Lord will comfort you and yours. I pray God will give you a PEACE that passes all understanding as only HE can!
I do not want to compare. I have lost my mother, Father sister and brother. God meets us at our struggle and grief.
My prayer is that He meets you in a special way, That you know, That you know it’s God!
May you be greatly comforted! In Jesus name I pray.
May the God of all comfort be your relief.
So VERY sorry for your family’s loss.
How unbelievably sad. I am so sorry. The pain must be unbearable.
I am very sorry for your loss. As a parent, I can’t imagine the pain you are going through. May the Lord bless and comfort you, today, and every day in the future.
I am so heartbroken for your son’s pain and your loss.
Please PM me if you need to talk, cry or vent.
Hugs to you and your family.
Very sorry to hear, tragic, sorry. Praying for you and family, and Peace that only our Almighty Father knows how to administer.
I’m so sorry. Prayers on the way. God bless.
I will most definitely pray for you. Unfortunately, I can somewhat understand what you are feeling. My husband did the same thing on 5-2-22 and much of what you describe sounds like my circumstances. It has been hard, but I am surviving and even flourishing.
My God give you an abundant amount of His Grace. Keep crying out to God and He will definitely answer. I know this from experience.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Many prayers going out to you and your family. If you can get to an Al-Anon meeting, it would be of tremendous help.
Ghastly. Our hearts go out to you. We have a similar situation brewing with a 59 year old brilliant mechanical engineer son. Demon rum and life’s vicissitudes. Never know when that phone call is going to come. What can one say? So very, very sorry. God grant you peace.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things...it never ends.
When you can, just close your eyes and let Jesus hold you. His peace does pass all our human understanding as at times very tough in my life, I let Him hold me and soak in His peace. Hard now to put words to what happened but you are prayed for. Thanks for being honest and reaching out.
I am so sorry for your loss. I also recently lost a son who destroyed himself as a result of drug and alcohol abuse. I pray for the repose of your son’s soul, and that you and your family may be comforted by by our good Lord.
My prayers for your family for comfort and strength and faith. May the Lord receive Ryan into His Kingdom..
My father killed himself 50 years ago this fall, at the same age as your Ryan. It’s hard. I am so sorry for your loss.
I’m terribly sorry for your loss. Nothing can replace your son, but in time may his memory give you peace.
Ouch and Prayers.
I’m so very, very sorry for your tragic loss. I will be praying for you and your family. I’m so very sorry.
