I love my 45 cal 1911. It is what I shoot at the range. However, I find it too large to conceal. I have a single stack Kahr 9 mm for cc.

Yeah... I have a 45 cal 1911 that stays in the console. My carry is Kahr 9mm. It's a CW9..... a great shooting gun.

“The right tool for the right job”. Kimber 45 for in town shopping and the Bank deposit/withdraws, the 44 super Blackhawk for outside and around the property. Cabinet Mountains area, close to the Yaak River.

My S&W .357 magnum does not have a safety.

Everybody has opinions....

I don’t like safeties either. But seems to me that learning how to keep one in the pipe at the ready would be SOP?

I’ve read of several off-duty LEO’s & CCP holders being killed because they needed either that extra second to chamber a weapon or pointed and pulled the trigger only to hear a “click” and then get blown away.

My hands are average, but I love the 1911 grip and besides a Browning Hi-Power, there’s nothing like it.

The gun I have when I am camping etc. has a Colt series 70 upper and a Para-Ordinance low with a 13 round magazine capacity.

All weapons have safeties. The 1911's is comfortable to me as is the Baretta. Don't much care for the Glock.

Not all. I have a Sig that has no safety at all. I really appreciate the fact that when you pull the trigger, the gun will fire. The safety is always between your ears anyway. Depending on something else is where ADs come from.

The Browning is single-stack, yes?

I agree, the CZ P01 is my carry choice - with decocker. I’m a revolver man myself, and found this weapon to be as revolver like in handling as I could get. Add to that it sits in your hand like a 1911 ( which I’ve also plenty of time with), and shoots the easy to find and relatively cheap 9mm accurately.

1858 Remington’s have them, there’s a notch between each nipple you rest the hammer in/on...

I have a S&W 4506 as well. Picked up a couple 10 round mags, aftermarket, for it when I purchased it 20+ years ago. Love ... that ... gun!

Does the P 01 have a decocker? My 75 B does not.

Built like a tank and just as heavy, but I love mine. Got it from a pawnshop in KC, I believe, about 5 years ago for $400.

>>I would trust a 1911 more than 95% of Congress critters when it comes time to defend my life !! <<

Would you mind naming the 25 Congress critters you would trust with your life. I wouldn’t trust five of them.

Like you, I am a revolver fan. Much more since I added Crimson Trace Laser sight to it. Don’t need my glasses- just put the red dot on the target and squeeze.

I used to carry a 1911 in a belt pack (not a holster). I had no problems with the safety; a Kimber is more accurate than I am; I've never had a problem with reliability. However, the issue of magazine capacity finally caused me to change. I now carry a Browning Hi-Power in 9 mm. I'm considering switching to a ParaOrdnance .45 for the higher magazine capacity while retaining the .45 effectiveness. I wil not quibble with the opinions of the person quoted. He's entitled to his; I'm entitled to mine.

This must be why he got out of the Corps.
