You can't make this up. Black student sees guide wire ripped out of ground and hanging over tree. Thinks one inch loop is a noose and freaks out.

Time to change the Huggies. They need to start making them with college logos on them.

Black hysteria.
I used to pay attention to the books African Americans sought out in a mall mega bookstore, just for curiosity. 95% of the time it was the black interest section When I saw one young AA man go for the computer magazines, I felt like hugging him!
That was some years ago. Is it different now? I hope it is.

Now that’s a market. Can you imagine 60,000 screaming LSU fans showing up to their final game in Huggies with their school logo on them?

Am I the only one here who recognizes the ignorance of not only the original student, but also the reporters and commenters?
The wire in question is a guy wire. While there might be something called a "guide wire" somewhere in the world, it is not very common, and the item in the picture is a guy wire.

That’s sexist. Why no gal wires?

Good question. But I see I better not answer. I’ve said too much already.

I could never figure out why they were called “spooks” when they’re so easily spooked themselves.

Can you imagine her reaction when she looks at the label on the back of her shirt and it says 100% Cotton.

Actually it was a grounded wire. I’ve never looked up the spelling but was going by what I heard. Sorry.
To: CurlyDave
The wire in question is a guy wire. Thanks. Finally, the story makes sense. It said "ground wire", and that did not make sense, because why would a ground wire be up in a tree. The loop is to secure the guy wire to a stake in the ground or a reinforcement on a tree trunk, that was undone by the falling tree. Not big enough for a human head, btw.

The right thing to do here is to laugh and ridicule this person. I honestly think the shaming would help this person grow the hell up.

This always happens when they drop the serious sublects like Basic Basket Weaving and knot tying and replace them with Safe Space management for the college snowflake and Gender studies and psychoanalytic theory.
