I will be in the minority here and say that I appreciate where you are coming from and I share your fears.... the power to “discriminate” will lie with those in power and as a Christian I worry that another administration like this one down the road may say my views, based on faith and the bible, about homosexuality might be deemed illegal.
However, I think Trump is simply saying stop the immigration until we can figure this out. It’s immigration - these are not American citizens with constitutional rights - they are immigrants coming to our country. In light of recent events and what we know this seems like common sense at the moment. The jellybean picture is right and it’s a good analogy. Trumps first job as President would be to protect my children - not to open our country up to theirs.
It’s easy to be “extreme” in our views and fail to consider where the path leads in the future. I also REFUSE to abandon our constitutional rights in the name of defense. Let’s wait and see how this plays out because I am confident Trump means just what I wrote above. Personally, I would like to see us stop all immigration under anything other than the historical process to apply for citizenship. I would also support a ten year ban on public assistance and require a probationary period where you can be sent home. We don’t owe immigrants anything and it’s a privilege to become a U.S. citizen - not a right.

Trump said we need to stop Muslim immigration “until they get it figured out”. Which is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
He said nothing about permanently stopping it.
The next attack could be as early as this December 2015. I’ve traded in the markets for a living for 10 years. The last 7 days have been very unnatural as if the markets know something not yet apparent.
When the next terror attack hits they may as well forget the primaries and the election and swear Trump in right away because he will be president anyway.

Finally, all Trump is advocating is a time out so that we can get our bearings and figure out a next step. Stopping all immigration is overkill, similar to frisking grandmothers at airport security. Restriction of a list of countries, as Cruz has suggested, can easily be circumvented and it disadvantages other minorities, such as Yazidis.
What Trump suggests is the correct response, though it may initially need to take the form of an emergency action to dodge constitutional challenges.

Obama and his regime are already keeping would be Christian refugees from Syria, Iraq, etc. out of the U.S., and leaving in only predominantly Muzzie refugees. The future you refer to is here already, via our President and his rejection of Christian refugees.
We can keep any refugees we want away from our shores, have done so in the past, and will again in the future, whenever we choose to do so as a people. That is, once we get rid of our PC Marxist/Fascist leadership. It started with that old f*rt Jimmy Carter, when he began excluding immigrants from our own cultural heritage and background, predominantly European in nature, and opened the floodgates to Haitians, Middle Easterners, Africans, Southeast Asians, etc., people from cultures very alien to our own.
We’ve been on the downhill slide ever since. Now there is a bare trickle of immigrants from our own cultural heritage, and a deluge of immigrants from countries most unlike our own and who assimilate poorly. Some diversity is good, but we have diversity to a fault. See Somali immigrants living up in Minnesota or Middle Easterners in Dearborn, Michigan for an example of a Jihadi, Sharia law mind think and lack of any desire to become uniquely American. The Balkanization of America.
We owe immigrants from other countries nothing, and we already allow them in on a selective basis, always have and always will. We pick and choose those whom we allow into our country all the time. We have taken long pauses in allowing immigrants into our country before and we can do it again, at whim. It is up to us, our government, our people, our policies. Unfortunately, we are being led now by a pack of jackals who want America to fail. They must go.
You are talking out of your hat, don’t know what you are speaking to regarding immigration, and want to give immigrants a status that they do not hold, unless we grant it to them. So get off your high and mighty immigration high horse, claiming for refugees and immigrants privileges and entitlements they do not have unless we deem it to be so.
By the way, Christian conservative refugees don’t have inclinations to lop other people’s heads off, like the Muzzie death cult does. Or set off bombs, or stab or shoot their fellow citizens in the name of their religion and their ideology, which is one and the same. Big difference in behavioral patterns, in case you haven’t noticed.
You would choose to allow a potentially radical Muzzie 5th column to enter into our country to our detriment and eventual demise as a unified culture. We no longer are a haven of safety for those that would add to our society rather than subtract from it or attempt to undermine it. The likes of Sharia law may appeal to you, but not to the rest of us, thank you.
Go push your Muzzie loving cultural admiration elsewhere rather than making an attempt to foist it off on our country. We are still for the moment predominantly an Anglo Saxon and European heritage, a Judeo Christian culture, not quite yet a third world hellhole done in by rampant immigration from other third world country hellholes. And such immigration being jammed down our throats by socialist and globalist, highly venal and elitist leaders. PC will be the death of our way of life sooner than later if this keeps up.
No thank you. Move to the EU or the Middle East if you are interested in a cultural diversity disaster in the making. Reverse immigrate yourself, please.
