It is pure desperation to think that Ted Cruz has ever worked to undermine American sovereignty. He’s won SCOTUS cases protecting it. He helped stop the Gang of 8. He fought tirelessly against Obamacare and the DREAM Act.
You want to hit him because he supported the Reagan version of TPA? Be my guest. Argue protectionism vs Free Trade all you want. Worried that Cruz takes personal loans against stocks held with Goldman Sachs? Make sure you keep in mind that Trump thinks Goldman Sachs is the bees knees and recommended they be in charge of the funds for the bank bailout.
But leave off this ridiculous tin foil that Ted Cruz is somehow working against America because of where he was born. It is insulting not only to Cruz but to millions of dedicated, hard working Americans who are citizens born abroad as well as legally naturalized citizens.
I agree... we don’t be needing to dig down deep for remote suspicions. What’s on the surface is quite sufficient. Both he and Donald have ego problems. Clashes between them are going to be nasty.
Very interesting comment from another poster...
“I sat through a Cruz interview with Katie Couric and it was mind boggling how calculated Ted answered each question. He answered them all extremely well, but still came across as super polished and political. His answers all sound like what a well trained lawyer would say. Because that’s what Ted Cruz is. His demeanor just doesn’t do it for me at all. He’s the smarmy know it all kid who thinks he is awesome. Teds announcement speech had the same vibe.”
Very well said.

All your points are solid and well stated.
He was 4 years old when he moved to Texas - Trump supporters would have you believe he was turned into an American hating “manchurian candidate” before his 4th birthday despite his record revealing a *very* solid conservative, the likes of which very rarely come along as a candidate for POTUS.
As I understand it, Cruz only learned of his dual citizenship 9 months before he affirmatively renounced it - His family did not apply for Canadian citizenship for him when he was born; the Canadian govt did it automatically. Consider if Scotland were to grant Scottish citizenship to Trump based on his mother’s heritage without Trump applying for it, what would that mean?
And as I keep saying, if the founding fathers, framers of the Constitution, thought Cruz’s circumstance of birth was acceptable as a presidential candidate in the N.A. of 1790, who am I to argue with their opinion?
I can’t support Trump in the primaries because I see the controlling egomaniac in him. He is all about “winning” and everything else is secondary - and I mean, *everything* else. I have yet to hear him mention what, if anything would be “off the table” in his negotiations with Congress over his agenda. What Constitutional rights would he be willing to allow legislative and/or executive policy infringement upon in order to advance his agenda and be seen as “The Winner”?
Now should Trump win the general, I will certainly vote for him as the “lesser evil” over the Dem’s egomaniacs and hope & pray he can regulate his inner egomaniac for the good of the nation as much as possible.
But, that’s just my opinion and opinions will likely vary.
