Trump: "Ted Cruz Didn't Win Iowa, He Stole It;" Cruz Committed Voter Fraud
iOTW Report ^ | 2/3/16 | Aurelius

Posted on 02/03/2016 6:33:10 AM PST by rightistight

Accusing Senator Ted Cruz of voter fraud, Donald Trump today argued that Mr. Cruz "stole" the election in Iowa.

"That is why all of the polls were so wrong, and why he got far more votes than anticipated," Mr. Trump said on Twitter, suggesting no one predicted that Mr. Cruz would win:

Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated. Bad!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2016

Mr. Trump then went further, saying Mr. Cruz committed fraud, suggesting that Cruz's campaign suggesting that Ben Carson would drop out amounted to fraud, as did his campaign's mailers about "voting violations:"

Many people voted for Cruz over Carson because of this Cruz fraud. Also, Cruz sent out a VOTER VIOLATION certificate to thousands of voters.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2016

The Voter Violation certificate gave poor marks to the unsuspecting voter(grade of F) and told them to clear it up by voting for Cruz. Fraud— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2016

Cruz apologized for a stupid mistake that changed nothing. Trump's behavior certainly is an issue. I can't vote for this guy.

Exactly. Someone should ask Mr. Crybaby why Carson's voters didn't go for HIM.

Where were Trump's people -- why weren't they complaining right there? Because they thought it was true, too! It was coming from CNN.

Rubio's people used it, too. Trump's not going after Rubio

I did not say all Carson voters went to Cruz. But for many evangelicals, Carson is their first choice, and Cruz their second.

I am sharing information and giving a perspective. Take it or leave it.

Of course some Trump supporters will dig their heels in. It won't matter what he says or does.

Others will continue to be turned off by his antics and hopefully Cruz can pick some of those up.

Think about this. Could you imagine Obama acting like this? Bernie lost by a literal coin toss and he’s not throwing a temper tantrum.

Forgive me? Who do you think you are? I’ve come to my senses and would vote Carson over Cruz any day. That bridge is burned. Good bye.

Trump may well lose support on how he has acted after the Iowa caucus; really.

I agree. It is getting harder and harder to support him.

Cruz and Rubio would defeat Bernie or Hillary easily (if Trump doesn’t run 3rd party; which he will if he loses the nomination).

first he said “ I just went through the motions”
then he said “ I didn’t think I had a chance to win Iowa anyway”
NOW he said “ CRUZ stole the election in Iowa and I want a retake”

This man is saying anything to try and gain traction.
He is only hurting himself.

Wow, Ted Cruz really messed up here, eh?

First on CNN: Ted Cruz apologizes to Ben Carson

I will not be able to in good conscience vote for him either.
I was agreeing for a while that if he were the nominee I would hold my nose and vote for him but he is truly a unstable man with a lot of money.

well, fair enough.

still, there has been, and remains, little fire here in IA for Carson, for whatever reason.

I travel the state extensively, and see/hear very little evidence of overt support for Carson, as compared to the other leading candidates

that is why he did not show well here, I think.

thanks for the clarification.

Correct. “Crystal clear that Cruz is a “slime ball”.”

Trump wasn’t whining; he was stating a fact. And I believe it was a well-thought-out release. He took some time, did the research, learned the facts, and then made a statement. At times he appears to make knee-jerk, ill-advised statements, but it’s for show. He didn’t achieve all he has by making stupid moves.

Apparently Cruz supporters have an aversion to pesky ol’ facts . It’s Alinsky-like of them to take that truth and tag it as “sore loser”.

Pray for Trump.

> “ It won’t matter what he says or does.”

Not true in general. Trump supporters are not happy with all of his acts.

The key thing to understand is that Trump can beat the media, Cruz cannot. Cruz can win any debate but he won’t be allowed to debate, he will be demonized and maligned. Everything else does not matter in terms of the general.

Same could be said of Rubio.

Disagree.

Trump prevails only when he can personalize his target. When the MSM opens up on him they will reduce him to rubble fast. And he does not enjoy enough public goodwill to make any difference.
