Because while there were limited WMD found, there was nothing on the order of WMD that would have proven an actual threat to the United States of America. Nothing that would justify the destruction of a sovereign nation.

We also have George W. Bush saying that there were now WMD, but Saddam had the capacity to make WMD.

I recall photos of fighter jets buried in the Iraqi desert. Fly that into a building and/pr load it with Sarin and you've got a WMD. Remember 9/11!
