The Trump Potential

The "pendulum" diagram below summarizes the direction in which this nation has been heading for about the last 100 years; inexorably drifting leftwards. It also suggests the hope for a potential Trump presidency; would it, could it, halt the slide? Not simply slow the rate of it, as one might argue has happened intermittently over the last century, but actually STOP it? Why might he be able to do it? Because he can bypass and destroy media narratives and expose and tear down the Washington D.C. elitist cabal; at least this is the hope and I believe this is what drives a lot of his support. This is the potential opportunity here but there is a lot of work to be done to undo the various power grabs of the federal government (my list is here). With the right selection for a VP that is, a conservative, we could then seriously begin to start moving the pendulum to the right.

Just my humble opinion and yes, I know this is sort of premature.

We want to believe in good, and someone to take on the state of current affairs. Me too. Only now I see it is not Trump, He too is arrogant and thinks his way is the best of all.

Trump is almost another Obama. God help America!

Trump is almost another Obama?

Trump grew up in this country and loves it. Obama didn’t, and doesn’t. There is a huge difference. He’s not perfect by any means, but maybe perfect for the time.

Post #2: just spoke with a friend (lifetime leftist) who said, “I am afraid of Trump, he gets more ‘scary’ as time goes by.”

I will repeat what I said to her. He doesn’t need money from any lobby, he has proven he has the skills to run an empire (by hiring the best and brightest) and despite his many faults, I believe he has the interests of the USA as his primary motive despite his arrogance.

Have a delightful day...

Huh, GMTA! I just posted on another thread about how we all felt the pendelum of polical correctness would someday start to swing back toward sanity, and how great it feels to see it on the move.

A few days ago I agreed with you, after seeing the debate a week or so ago It completely turned me away from Donald. He showed arrogance deluxe, IMO. He is all about the DONALD! He is a good communicator and he is smart. Only it is not for America ... other than how he has succeded .

Sorry I do not believe Donald loves America!

” ... I believe he has the interests of the USA as his primary motive despite his arrogance.”

My wish is you are correct, however I no longer believe this to be true. He is all about the DONALD, period!

Many have been the leaders that rode rought shod over the people and Donald will do so given the chance. Wish is isn’t true but know better.

We all have opinions and to be sure, exactly how Trump might perform in the office remains to be seen. My hope is that he can at least put a stop to the incrementalist movement that’s been happening all these years.
