It doesnt matter who you support for President in 2016. This letter will make you want to stand up and cheer for the 80 year old American who expresses what most of us are feeling right now. Enjoy

Dear Representative,
From the time I was able to vote I voted Republican. I am 80 years old, and have a great deal of respect and influence with hundreds of senior ball players who also network with thousands of others around the country.
I received your questionnaire and request for money and strongly agree with every question, as I have since Obama was elected. Unfortunately the one question that was missing is What have the Republicans done for the American people? We gave you a majority in the House and Senate, yet you never listened to us. Now you want our money.
You should be more concerned about our votes, not our money. You are the establishment, which means all you want is to save your jobs and line your pockets Well guess what? Its not going to happen You shake in your boots when I tell you were giving our support to TRUMP and he hasnt asked for a dime.
You might think we are fools because you feel Trump is on a self destruction course, but you need to look beyond Washington and listen to the masses. Nobody has achieved what he has, especially in the liberal state of New York.
You clearly dont understand why the Trump movement is so strong, so Id like to share with you an analogy to help explain the Trump phenomenon. By the way, its not just the Republicans who feel ignored and disrespected, there are plenty of Democrats and Independents who also feel let down by the Washington elite. You seem to have forgotten about We The People and who hired you to represent us.
So here it is, the best analogy I could come up with. Here is the reason so many Americans have boarded the Trump Train, and why youre pleas to come back to the party who deserted us, is falling on deaf ears:
Youve been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately You call the city and four different exterminators, but nobody could handle the job. There is this one guy however, who guarantees you he will get rid of them, so you hire him. You dont care if the guy smells, you dont care if the guy swears, you dont care how many times hes been married, you dont care if he was friends with liberals, you dont care if he has plumbers crack you simply want those raccoons gone! You want your problem fixed! Hes the guy. Hes the best. Period. Heres why we want Trump: Yes hes a bit of an ass, yes hes an egomaniac, but we dont care. The country is a mess because politicians have become too self-serving. The Republican Party is two-faced & gutless. Illegal aliens have been allowed to invade our nation. We want it all fixed! We dont care that Trump is crude, we dont care that he insults people, we dont care that he had been friendly with Hillary, we dont care that he has changed positions, we dont care that hes been married three times, we dont care that he fights with Megan Kelly and Rosie ODonnell, we dont care that he doesnt know the name of some Muslim terrorist.
This country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegal aliens and bringing tens of thousands of Muslim refugees to America, while leaving Christians behind to be persecuted. We are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo and Hasid is part of a special group with special rights, to the point where we dont even recognize the country we were born and raised in; AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED and Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.
Were sick of politicians. Were sick of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. We just want this thing fixed. Trump may not be a saint, but he isnt beholden to lobbyist money and he doesnt have political correctness restraining him. All we know is that he has been very successful, hes an excellent negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and hes also not a politician. Hes definitely not a cowardly politician. When he says hell fix it, we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar.
Oh yeah I forgot we dont care if the guy has bad hair either.
We just want those raccoons gone.
Out of your house.
NOW!
If he does the job right, I don’t care what the exterminator thinks of himself.
If you love a person, you love Trump.
I love America.
Then vote for America. Vote Trump.
my vote is already cast,
and it is for a patriot.
His name is Not Trump, a narcissist like Obama.
Oh, would that be this guy?
George Washington or Abe Lincoln would fill the bill if that is the criteria, too.
You are in one third agreement with Newt Gingrich- he recently stated that Trump is a weird combination of Andrew Jackson, Teddy Roosevelt, and P.T. Barnum. A few months ago, I posted here that Trump is a combination of Elmer Gantry and P.T. Barnum.
Washington owned business interests and managed a farm/staff.
Lincoln worked on a flatboat (selling/trading goods in New Orleans) and owned one or two shops.
Yep, and also patriots.
So what’s the beef?
[I’ve held off on expressing an opinion about choosing a Republican candidate, but I’m going to now.]
The writer makes many good points, and I agree with most of them. (I’m not so sure about his high rating of Trump’s business acumen, though. “Nobody has achieved what he has...” As I understand it, people who started with the millions that he did, and merely invested in the stock market as a whole, would have billions by now too.)
Early in the campaign I enjoyed his attacks on the mainstream media and on the Republican establishment, and made some favorable remarks about him to relatives at Thanksgiving dinner last year.
I don’t trust him, though. Now he seems just as inclined to attack conservatives. He doesn’t seem to care much about truth or principles, and continually contradicts himself. Over the years, just from the way he obtruded himself upon the media (at sports events, and so forth), I had the impression that he was a shallow-minded blowhard. Now that I know him better I still believe that’s what he is. I think indulging his own ego is what matters to him most, and doubt he has a clue about conservative principles of government or economics (or that he’d give a damn about them if he did understand them).
Should he become president, I wouldn’t be surprised if he betrays supporters on the right even more than has the Republican establishment. If I have to choose between Hillary and Trump, I’ll choose Trump. (I know that Hillary will do things I oppose. I just suspect that Trump will.) What a sorry state this country will be in, though, if those are our only choices.
I think he is just a plain narcissist to the tune of Juan or Eva Peron.
Nope. Here's *that* candidate....
“Should he become president, I wouldnt be surprised if he betrays supporters on the right even more than has the Republican establishment.”
Nailed it.
He has no bonafide conservative credentials, just a mouth.
Should he become president, I wouldnt be surprised if he betrays supporters on the right even more than has the Republican establishment.
He’s already saying that his immigration plan is “flexible”. He’s all BS and bluster.
I am now beginning to wonder if Trump isn’t the Republican Obama. His campaign has about the same amount of detail- Make America great, Hope and Change...
Cruz is pretty much 100% Gantry.
Obama never once said he would Do anything for America except fundamentally transform it.
YOU MY FRIEND don’t give adman about your country, Cruz CAN NOT WIN in a general!!!!
HAD O BAMMIE built One damn thing or EVER created one damn job??? NO he Hadn’t so PLEASE there is NO COMPARISON!!!! has Ted Cruz EVER owned a business or created one damned job.....NO!!! He is a typical DC lawyer !!!!
I remember the town hall meetings a few years back and people telling the politicians “You work for us!” and the crowd would applaud. Then the politicians went back to DC and forgot all about us. Why? Because we re-elected them.
The old man who wrote the letter is 80 years old. I’ll follow his advice. He’s been around along time and we need to listen to our elders. And we need to respect them.
