Is he chicken? Is he afraid?
His people will make excuses: it's the smart thing to do. What if he accidentally flubs and stops momentum? Why take the chance?
I don't buy it. He exited Fox's forthcoming debate, formerly scheduled for next week, because he fears that Cruz, who is in second place in the GOP presidential race, will beat him. That's the way it looks. In schoolyard terms, he's running from a one-on-one, a mano-a-mano. That's not the way to win respect – especially from the tough, politically incorrect base that seems to make up much of his support. I'm surprised they aren't making a fuss. If Trump is going to kick butt in Washington and make America great again, what's he doing backing down from mild-mannered Ted Cruz?
Cruz isn't Hulk Hogan. He isn't Albert Einstein.
The problem is, Cruz knows conservatism, has lived it, and has put his political life on the line for it. He's also a champion debater, a lawyer who has argued in front of the Supreme Court, and a man who speaks from the heart – because he believes what he's saying. Trump certainly speaks from the heart. But he doesn't know the issues like Cruz? At best, he's learning.
-snip-
If Donald Trump won't debate Cruz one-one, Republican voters should take the cue. He's afraid. He doesn't have the answers. He's not who his supporters think he is. On the other hand, if he does debate, it shows he thinks more of the country than just his own fate. That's what America deserves in a candidate. It has it in Cruz, who will debate Trump anywhere, any time. Does it have it in Trump. Does Trump care about the country? Or only himself?

Cruz needs to find something new other than squealing for debates.
People can’t stand watching him for long so it would only hurt Ted even more.
There is absolutely nothing more that needs to be said on television with the clown moderators and the remaining candidates. If people don’t know who they support by now, they have no business voting.
Of course, the RNC has come out and said the primary votes don’t matter. The delegates, not the voters, choose the nominee. So, again, what does any of this matter?
Has the country gone nuts? It feels like it.
If you’re ahead why give opponent an opening to attack.
Two reasons. First, he doesn’t need to, he’s out in front and has a very high probability of getting a majority of delegates ahead of the convention and being the nominee. Second, Cruz would wipe the floor with him and expose him as the clueless and ignorant blowhard he is.
Glenn Beck
Cruz can debate Trump all he wants — on Twitter. Fair and balanced. Can’t get more fair than that.
He has 11 times.
ROFL!
Glenn Beck could moderate the debate. And he can enforce fairness with his light saber.
Trump has already debated Ted Cruz upteen times...
Because he doesn’t need to. Cruz needs to debate Trump, but he would lose that one just like he has lost all the others.
Why did Cruz turn down the town hall grilling he was offered by Fox after Kasich declined?
Was he afraid of going one against three?
Calling it fear is just an attempt to troll your opponent to act stupidly
Maybe Trump just finds Ted annoying, like I do.
That debate was always tenative.
A dozen debates have been more than enough.
A debate with endless tears and stabbing. Think of the ratings...
Cruz is nothing but a dam pest....a frickin’ opportunist.
He will use anything to keep his name out there.
If we never hear from him again, it will be a great relief.
Americans are fed up w/ his self-serving preaching.
#2 always wants one more debate.
Honestly have there ever been more primary debates than this year? The screeching for more debates really makes Cruz look desperate. He’s had 12 debates to get his message out and one or 50 more debates won’t change anything.
Trump has 11 times. So much dishonesty.
