You got me thinking.

Yeah, the Blaze could moderate Trump and Cruz debate, but Beck needs to be put in a padded cell until Trump returns to his 757.

Pat and Stew could lob word-grenades 70% of the time. Sounds awesome!

Yet another Ted Cruz lie??

Trump has been on 11 “debates” with Ted so far.

Besides, winners don’t debate losers. Why bother?

Why does Ted need to be in front of the cameras with Trump so badly?

There are good reasons he should and a few reasons he shouldn't. It's a good move strategically, because I don't think the "look how great I am" and "look how big the crowd is" will qualify as answers to a lot of questions that will be aimed at him. And responding to attacks on his history would simply be met with name-calling or attacks on Cruz's penis size, physical appearance or some other juvenile comment that will get a hundred laughs. Hardly productive.

Obviously, if it's one on one, I think we know which direction it would go. The problem is, there is no fair "moderator"... at least in the network circles. Just about any "moderator" would turn it into a Trump hit-job and he knows it. His campaign is wisely telling him to not do it. If I were HIM, I wouldn't step in that one either.

Flame away... I have my coffee and a sense of humor this morning.

I think Trump should debate the $ billionaire donors to the Cruz campaign.

He’s already done the past half dozen debates which were everyone against him?

I guess he should just keep on and on till Ted somehow gets better at it

Because Trump’s stream of conscious - no one is really sure what he thinks or for how long about anything - style of delivery would not compare well to anyone who has thought through the issues and presents those thoughts in a coherent manner.

It is called a Race for a reason. Lets say one is in race and you are far ahead. Do you slow down and let the others catch up just to appease some outlying entity, NO!

Still wondering if asking for another “debate” isn’t something cooked up between Maggot Kelly and the Faux News to attack Trump again. they don’t seem to get enough of it.

Trump would not win a debate with Cruz. Trump does not need to debate Cruze. These are the reasons Trump will not debate.

What I find entertaining when listening to Trump speak is that he can’t seem to hold on to a thought long enough to complete a sentence. Ever notice how he rambles through a comment and changes thoughts before he completes them? It seems like when he has multiple thoughts at once, he can’t focus on one and complete it before he injects another. I mean, I don’t consider the best public speakers necessarily the best candidate for political office, just an observation. Cruz seems to do pretty well most times, but I’ve seen him stumble a lot too... The problem with Cruz is he just can’t seem to pull off the drama effect to raise eyebrows. The substance is there, but projecting the passion is something he needs serious help with. He always sounds too scripted and that turns a lot of people off. That’s one of the draws of Trump. EVERthing he says is off the cuff... or at least it appears that way.

Not only have they had 11 debates, not only will they be meeting again Monday on CNN, Mr trump says believes that the time for GOP debates is done. What needed to be said should have been said. Enough for voters to decide. Now Cruz has shown a dishonest nature by attacking Trump on the same talking points manufactured by the democrats. And by joining up with the Establishment he claims to be against

Ted's take on the issues has been presented to voters and they have awarded him 5 wins and Trump 17 wins. The time for intra party GOP debates is over. Time to unite with the winner and get ready for Hillary.

U R WRONG. Ronald Reagan was a leader. He debated RFK and you won’t find the transcript. He ate him up and the Rats didn’t want that exposure. Same as Trump.

“Why didn’t Mitt Romney debate Newt Gingrich one on one?”

Because Romney knew he would suffer a beat-down.

In head to head debate no question Cruz would beat Trump. I don’t think there’s anyone in American politics, Republican or Democrat, who can hang on the same stage with Cruz, in a policy debate. That said, Trump is the leader of this nomination race and has the momentum. In politics you don’t give the opponent who’s behind equal billing by debating him one on one. That’s what Cruz would have done if he was in the lead and Trump was challenging him to a debate. Trump controls the game and he sets the rules. If roles were reversed and Cruz were leading this race he would set the rules. That’s reality. Deal with it. Cruz only has himself to blame for why he’s behind in this nomination race.
