You know Ted had nothing to do with this. He is not legally permitted to even talk with PACs about such tactics, let alone coordinate such a thing.

It is sleazy, but it’s not like they got these pictures by peering into Ducking Donnie’s bedroom. Melania put these pictures out there.

He had the chance to condemn his PAC for this personal attack on Trump family. He did not condemn it, so we can only conclude he thinks the ad is appropriate.
Trump did not threaten to attack Heidi. He said he might spill the beans on her, e.g. provide information on her. Big difference. And remember that Heidi is an active political figure in the campaign and former Bush administration. Melania is not in politics.
Yesterday Cruz made the connection between terrorist attacks and Trump's criticism of NATO -- a huge stretch since NATO's mission is defense against Russia.
