Nurse practitioners and physician assistants offer competent care in more locations and at a lower cost than physicians, but these professionals are limited by protectionist restrictions known as scope of practice rules. I would predict that the businsess of medical malpractice attorneys will show double-digit growth should reforms like this go through.

No no and no. The NPs and PAs (advanced practice nurses) that I know do NOT want the scope of practice enlarged or changed. It is their worst nightmare
