Voting Ted Cruz: Has God Abandoned America?
Thy Black Man ^ | April 15, 2016 | Lloyd Marcus

Posted on 04/15/2016 7:53:32 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

As Ted Cruz-mania skyrockets exciting millions http://bit.ly/1SHWzWW, I still get emails from professed Christians ripping me to shreds for choosing Cruz over Trump. These anti-Cruz Christians dig deep, coming up with reasons so weak not to choose Cruz that they equal saying Ted Cruz took another kid’s candy when he was seven. Then, they fall back on rehashing Cruz’s eligibility. http://bit.ly/22nhGD6

Frankly, anti-Cruz Christians have me scratching my head. Clearly, these Christians are willing to overlook all of Mr Trump’s shortcomings, anti-Christian political positions http://bit.ly/23mAGaI and liberal leanings. http://bit.ly/1LUzCxd

Meanwhile, they “passionately” leave no stone unturned, relentless in their attempts to discredit and disqualify the only presidential candidate with a proven record of faithfully standing up for Godly principles and values. http://bit.ly/1fXRDRf What is up with that?

A highly respected theologian used Romans 1:18-32 as the text for his sermon. The verses speak of people so stubborn and in love with their sin that God turned His back on them; giving them over to reprobate minds.

The theologian asserts that our nation has become so evil that God has turned His back, abandoning America. http://bit.ly/1qFsnFL Unarguably, wickedness is reigning supreme, unchallenged everywhere you look in America. Religious freedom in America is tedcruz-president-2016under assault like never before http://bit.ly/1VISTt4; Christians jailed for not embracing behaviors which God calls abominations.

Romans 1:18-32 not only condemns certain behaviors, it expresses God’s wrath against those who “approve of those who practice them.” I thought, “Whoa, by demanding that believers speak approvingly of what God calls sin, government is mandating that Christians defy God, subjecting themselves to His wrath.” Could you imagine a day would come in America when Christians would be persecuted for not placing government’s authority above God’s? http://bit.ly/1Ztwhxk

God calls Christians to be salt; to make a difference in our world. Sadly, far too many churches are silent regarding sin, afraid of financial loss and federal government retaliation. Some churches tolerate everything in the name of love. http://bit.ly/1Q2kePM “…if the salt loses its saltiness…it is no longer good for anything…” Matthew 5:13.

Then there are Christians who believe we have already lost America‘s culture war; causing them to concede social issues. They ignore their selected presidential candidate praising and supporting Planned Parenthood; exposed as a dead-baby-body-parts-chop-shop for profit; intact heads selling at a premium. http://bit.ly/1nDAqAU These Christians are willing to turn a blind eye to PP’s horrors; put the issue of Americans killing over 3,000 babies per day on the back burner. http://bit.ly/1zFY7YP Yeah, that’s what Jesus would do.

Ted Cruz is the only GOP presidential contender who believes social issues are a priority; vital to who we are as a nation.

Ted Cruz has a long history of defending religious liberty on numerous occasions including defeating atheists who sued to tear down a cross from a veterans’ memorial. http://bit.ly/1SHafRW

Decades of allowing the anti-Christian movement to go unchallenged has many Americans flat-out afraid of having a man of God in the Oval Office. Countless movies and TV shows portray Christians as over-the-top fanatics, haters and whackos.

Ironically, America was founded upon a foundation of Christian principles and values which have made America great and exceptional. http://bit.ly/1MTAZOE Flipping through TV channels confirms how far off-the-rails our nation has fallen folks.

Anti-Christian zealots, typically liberals, love to point out the shortcomings of those professing Christianity. Liberals despise behavioral standards of morality which explains their visceral hatred for Christianity. Liberals absurdly claim that unless you can walk-on-water, you have no right to espouse behavioral standards.

Well, Christianity “ain’t” about being perfect or doing enough good works to outweigh one’s bad. Christianity is about repentance and totally trusting Jesus to get into heaven. Surrendering one’s life to Christ gives them a heart for God. They desire and strive to do the right thing, though they fail repeatedly. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

Ted Cruz does not profess perfection. The man was wise enough to realize that he is a sinner in need of a savior, Jesus. He surrendered his life to Christ. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10

History chronicles that people have suffered severely when ruled by leaders who believe there is no power above theirs. “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Proverbs 29:2

Another liberal position has me scratching my head. Islamist believe their faith permits them to kill a disobedient wife and behead homosexuals. Islam advocates violence against non-believers (infidels).

“Fight those who believe not in Allah…” Qur’an 9:29 http://bit.ly/20sxeWI

And yet, liberals passionately defend and protect Muslims while throwing everything including the kitchen sink at Christians; claiming that Christianity is the arch-enemy of women and homosexuals. Christianity says, “…with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3

What is up with liberals’ not seeing the obvious contrast between the religion they hate and the one they demand that Americans respect? Obama’s DOJ vows to jail anyone speaking badly about Islam. http://bit.ly/1mxTG1G

I am voting for Ted Cruz, the only candidate I know will fight the Left’s relentless insidious quest to turn our nation away from God. I pray that the theologian’s scary sermon is wrong; that it is not too late – that God has not abandoned America.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 http://bit.ly/1AIVqp6

Yes, God has abandoned America. The wife and I watched a DVD recently about why America is not mentioned in the Bible during end times and the Scriptural and evidentiary conclusion was that America will be either gone or so weak that it makes no difference anymore in the world. It is probably due to the societal decay and greed and ever increasing abandonment of God by our country.

We saw Pastor Robert Jeffress speaking on Bill O’Reilly tonight and his rationalizing Christian support for Trump. Jeffress is either bipolar or Scriptural principles mean nothing to him except something to yap about on Sunday mornings in church and ignore the rest of the time. For example, God warns us not to make entangling commitments with non-believers, He warns us about the self-prideful, He warns us about men who lust after money and fame, He warns us about liars and coveters and adulterers and those who worship strange gods and worldly things and those who respect only themselves and don’t humble themselves before Almighty God etc. So why shouldn’t God abandon America if Christians support those who do so to be our elected leaders? God told us that if a people will change their ways and turn their backs on sinful behavior and humble themselves towards Him for Grace and guidance that He will heal their land.

Well, gosh. Trump had that whole YOU’RE FIRED show, for example, “when he didn’t have to”. Well, he made money from it, but he was putting himself on show, to a much greater degree than posting on FR does, I should think.

I might mention one scene from that show, which I “did not watch”, at least never a whole episode, I don’t think, ... when one of the “interns” challenged another because he put out large water bottles for a meeting. She suggested they were inappropriate and awkward. Trump was unhesitant. He agreed with her assessment, and pronounced, “You’re fired” to the hapless victim, much to his chagrin.

OK, it was just a show, but as far as what we might see from this, I took it on the positive side for Trump, who made the correct decision, in this competitive context. The challenger was entirely correct.

Now you might think, that’s a pretty thin pretext for Trump for President, but there are other things ... and I’m just one guy!

In the end we have to decide for ourselves and it is a difficult decision. Of this I am sure, one man is of God, and one is of the father of Lies. One will destroy America, the other may save Her. The problem lies in deciding which.

I will start by saying this, if you had told me, circa 1980 that I would ever consider voting for Donald Trump for president I would have told you that was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, and you don’t know me at all to even suggest such a preposterous thing. I did NOT like or approve of Donald Trump!

But now, this is a very different world. And Donald Trump is a different man. And I am a very different sort of Christian than I used to be, one one hand much more mellow, on the other hand, much more old testament-ish. And I am very cynical. And I don’t put much stock in people who make a big deal out of their Christian faith, usually they end up stabbing you in the back, if they don’t it is because they are little more honest, and they stab in you in the chest. Real Christians just don’t talk about it much at all (unless you ask) they just live it.

Christ warns us, indeed He commands us, not to be deceived. I think too, that God does not play tricks on us.

So here we have two men, quite different, who have stood up and said that he will do all that he can to save this country.

One old man has pledged his own fortune that he has earned to do so. The other has not, because he earned has no fortune. He set out to acquire his fortune and power through elected office.

One man is old. He has amassed wealth and fame; and so wields power already; he already enjoys the good life in abundance. He is at an age where men step aside, rest, enjoy their children, their grandchildren, their possessions, write books, practice philanthropy, play golf, but he looks around, he sees chaos, his countrymen in great distress, and he sees, he knows, the terrible corruption in govt, diseased corrupt govt that spreads its sickness into every corner of this once noble land, a land that is also suffering a invasion of devouring hordes aliens who bring only more disease. chaos, and corruption, and nothing good. And so he decides he will not rest but he will take a stand for his country and give what is left of his life to try to save his country, despite the risk to his life, to his children’s inheritance, to his peace of mind, to his reputation, and to his family, even to his life, he has to wear a bullet-proof vest.

And then we have an ambitious young man, who also stands up, he is climbing the political ladder, he has married well, he has made good political connections, but he does not pledge his own money, he borrows money to advance his political career and lies about it, he finds a niche for himself in the Christian community, he says the right things, perhaps he is sincere, many think he is. But where does the financial support for his campaign come from? Has God provided it? Has Cruz earned it himself? Is Cruz’ climb to the presidency truly selfless? Is there ANY real personal sacrifice he is making to do this?

Is this not in fact Cruz’ heart’s desire? Is not the presidency the pinnacle of the politician’s career?

So the question here, is a Cruz presidency God’s heart’s desire?

And here is where the NBC issue comes in. If it were indeed God’s heart desire to raise up Cruz as the man of God who will save this nation, if the spirit of God were with Cruz, would not God, who sees the beginning from the end, and the end from the beginning, have ensured that Cruz met the Article II,I,5, condition so that there would be no impediment to his presidency?

Would God send such a legally flawed man to stand in the gap when His people are in such peril who by the very circumstances of his birth and parentage could not save his people, because another man, with the very same constitutional defect, had placed His people in this peril in the first place? And thereby by this very presidency forever ensuring that the people of this country would forevermore be in peril from the kind of presidency that our forefathers wisely sought to protect us from in the first place?

Now this next is for Christians, my Jewish friends can think of this as they will. (as a matter of fact, I guess this whole essay is for Christians)

When He sent His only begotten son to the world it was His dearest wish that His chosen people, the Jews, recognize Him as their Savior, and their Messiah, and so Jesus was born their hereditary King. There was no enthroned King of the Jews in Israel in that time, but the lineage of Jesus Christ, both through his early father Joseph and through his mother Mary made Him indeed the hereditary King of Israel.

Now that is the way God works, and for us too, in this case, this would be a sign for us also so we would not be deceived. If God raises up a man (or woman) to be our head of state he would have from his birth all of the qualifications for this task. The Constitution of the United States, is the most sacred, albeit secular, document of this second covenant nation, which He has made so much greater than the first, and God will abide by it, no matter how we may twist and distort these noble words to get something that we think we want that is not good for us.

So, again, consider these things, to determine who is the man who the Christian should chose.

1) NBC, it really is truly important. It is God’s hint if you cannot figure it out from the other clues.
2) Personal ambition? Is this is a young ambitious man’s next career step? Is he really intent on saving this country and the constitution, or is he really intent on doing what is necessary to further his own career? What really motivates him? He is young with half of his life ahead of him!
3) Money and endorsements. Who benefits from these two presidencies? Do not consider your own biases for this task. You are commanded by Christ not to be deceived. Therefore you are forbidden to have biases. So the fact that you like Cruz’ apparent puritanism and theonomy. and you think Trump was a playboy back in the day are not to be considered; instead look at the here and now and the trouble we are in and who these two men really are. Where does Cruz’ support come from? Who are the Cruz delegates? How does he win? What does Cruz do versus what he says? Who are the people who surround Cruz? Are they friends of God? Is Glenn Beck a friend of God? Mitt Romney? Jeb Bush? Are any of the Washington Elites coalesced around, and supporting Cruz, who would vote for Hillary if Trump were the nominee friends of God? Or friends of the people of this country? Look at Cruz friends. They are powerful. They are helping him. So is God using them to help Cruz, or they using Cruz to stop Trump? That is the question you have to decide. But when you make that decision, remember these people hate and despise you, Cruz has accepted their friendship, their endorsements and their money; they are his friends.

Now, look at Trump, disregard what you have decided you think for a moment, and look at what Trump’s enemies think of him. They are America’s enemies, and they are most certainly God’s enemies. And they hate and despise you.

Think it over.

Ly‘in Ted is a fake Christian, deceitfull, corrupt, cheating Canandian who is not eligible to be President.

Folks wanted a “black” man as president, so they looked past all of his faults, and ignored the fact his past is sealed from scutiny.

Exactly the same senario we see with Ted! Folks are so hungry for a Conservative they refuse to evaluate Ted from a common sense point of view

amen to this post. it is amazing to me that people that profess their belief in Jesus Christ would also advocate for a guy that AT BEST, thinks killing babies isn’t important, and at worst, advocates for it (which trump does by lifting up PP).

Trump also wants to promote and support the gay agenda. He’s said it himself.

There is so much deception in the world. God specifically warns us to NOT be deceived. Meaning we have to take a proactive stance against being lied to and we have to compare it to God’s Word for it’s truthfulness.

Remember Ross Perot’s Reform Party?

Of course you do. But you never consider, when I mention it, that “Ross Perot’s” party existed to nominate Ross Perot. And the Republican, Democrat, and all other parties exist to nominate candidates who are simpatico with the people who give those parties their structure.

The parties could not retain any ideological coherence at all if it were otherwise. Think of it as the GM Party, the Ford party, and the Chrysler party (to express the principle that parties are not limited to two. It is of course nonsense to speak of forming a “third” party when in fact there may be a dozen parties on the ballot in your state, not just two (and now that I think of it that way, I understand why “bipartisanship” as a synonym for “unanimity” has always given me the creeps).

Only when you recognize that the parties are not, must not be, in any sense creatures of the state do you catch a glimmer of why parties do not have an obligation to be internally democratic. Being political parties, of course, they need to put up a facade of democratic organization since, after all, their existence is predicated on the legitimacy of popular elections (at least within states and other political subdivisions). But the “Reform” party was never not going to nominate Ross Perot, even tho delegates nominally had the right to suggest other options. That was strictly a facade, and that facade was legal.

What is far less legitimate, OTOH, is for states to mandate open primaries. You only have the right, as a practical matter, to vote for Ford or GMC or Chrysler. And that is legitimate, in the sense that whereas a choice between candidate A and candidate B is a simple matter of “who gets the most votes,” the moment you expand the choices to more than three - say, to 100 million US citizens above the age of 35 - there is no mathematically principled way to choose among them. We see that in the current contest for the Republican Nomination, where there initially were enough candidates to conduct a “sweet sixteen” round of contests. Cruz’s position (which I know you reject) is that since Trump has never consistently gotten 50% of any vote, Trump has not earned a wave-through to the nomination from here.

It was an ugly process getting down even to three candidates, and whatever Cruz might say about Trump “winning” a crowded field with 30% of the vote no doubt applies to Cruz’s “placing” in that same crowded field. Possibly the GOP will manage in convention to nominate someone other than Trump or Cruz, and if so that will legally bind the Republican Party. And also, probably, doom it to electoral defeat if the Democrats do not find themselves nominating a felon who they recognize stands in violation of the Constitution in the full light of day.

"Is there anyone else out in Freeper land that thinks both of these guys are kind of way off? I would still vote for either, with equal nausea I suppose."

My take on 2016: If one focuses on Trump's rougher, coarser qualities it may be easy to conclude he is a maggot of a human being. Having said that, we are at a time in history where the fedgov has becoming a festering, putrescent open sore on the body politic and maggot debridement therapy is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Sadly you need to look to Cruz and yourself regarding lying. Anyone who can read knows it was Rubio not Trump that start the stupid sex scandal story, but the lie serves the purpose of Cruz and supporter better.
