Probably no one has earned more leeway from conservative voters and pundits than Rush Limbaugh. Rush has been a tireless force for the conservative movement for decades, and he probably is responsible for a whole lot of conservative Republicans who are currently in office. But thankfulness for past service only goes so far, and Rush’s program yesterday officially crossed the line.
When I think about Rush’s last year or so on air, I’m reminded of Marshall Phillipe Petain, one of the most intriguing figures of the twentieth century. Without Petain, the French might not have prevailed over the Germans at Verdun, and thus might have lost World War I. But for as much thanks as France owed Petain for his service in World War I, the full historical reckoning for Petain must acknowledge that Petain was a Nazi collaborator, the leader of Vichy France, and a totalitarian dictator. Petain’s history is complicated, and to tell the whole tale honestly requires acknowledging both the good and the bad.
So it is with Rush. For all he has done, and for all we should be thankful for, it is hard to deny that Donald Trump has brought conservatism to a critical moment. From this moment forward, it will either resemble the vision Rush has preached for thirty years, or it will not. It will either move forward as a recognizable force, or it will be destroyed with Trump in a historic landslide election.
Rush’s delima is that he has been a conservative his entire career. Now half of his audience worships Trumpy, who is not conservative in any way.
Many Trump supporters here claim that Rush supports Trump.
Cruzers are so maniacal that even when Rush does his usual shucking and jiving to stay relevant and keep Cruz safe, they are not happy with it. They want him to go NeverTrump because Cruzers are the right-wing version of the SJW.

I couldn't help notice how Rush was being a hypocrite since Rush had no such outrage when Trump suffered actual damage from GOPe Cruz operative dirty tricks against Trump's delegates.
The last time I heard Levin months ago, he was insufferably pro-Trump.
As a Trump supporter, I think Rush tend toward Cruz but is neutral or ok with Trump..
To a Cruzlim, insufficient hate for Trump is punishable by beheading.

Leon is even more of a pussy than Erick. This election is a choice between another career politician lawyer with zero private sector experience and a man who has built a multibillion company hiring tens of thousands of people. Its no contest. The GOP has been a docile party, a party that always retreats to an accommodating position where the left is concerned. Trump even with his flaws offers an entire paradigm change not just in politics but in the very culture. He will not be silenced. He will not be forced to be politically correct. He will not just say “oh well that is just the way things are”. He calls a pile of dog crap exactly what it is. I’ve always liked Cruz but its time to go with someone who has a record outside of bureaucracy and the only one running that has that is Trump.

Actually, most do not think that. Most, including me, think that Rush is trying very hard to stay neutral between Cruz & Trump.

It is a tough primary. Revolution always clears the path, we are not satisfied with the status quo. Rush will eventually need to pick a side.
Quit fighting amongst ourselves. Remember the only ENEMY is the Democrat Party and its Marxist/crooked leaders (Obama, Hillary, Little Debbie, Dirty Dingus Reid, and Nancy “My face is of a thousand cuts” Pelosi, plus Dickless Durbin, and so many other Marxists, racists, and crooks).
If we don’t unite, we are finished and so is America.
Maybe just the #NeverTrump shill is urging others to dump Limbaugh, if Trump gets the nomination and Limbaugh doesn’t go #NeverTrump.
