MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine President-elect Rodrigo Duterte said he will defy the Roman Catholic Church and seek to impose a three-child policy, putting him on a new collision course with the bishops a day after he called them "sons of whores".
The southern mayor has yet to be declared the May 9 poll winner, but an unofficial vote count by an election commission-accredited watchdog showed him ahead over his four rivals, three of whom conceded defeat. Duterte assumes office on June 30.
Duterte's often outrageous comments have won him huge support and his tirades about killing criminals and a joke about a murdered rape victim do not appear to have dented his popularity in the largely Catholic country....

What is it with some countries electing crazy leaders? I recall that some years ago the voters in Ecuador(?) elected a leader nicknamed “El Loco”. It was a joke that did not last. He lived up to his name and didn’t remain long in office.
IIRC, he’s a very strict “law and order” type mayor there.
They call him Duertre Harry.

When I lived in Mexico a building next to a Monastery in Mexico City got demoed. Beneath the ruins lay dozens of skeletons of nuns and their unborn babies.

Prevent islam from breeding and perhaps up the three-child policy for decent humans.
How is this going to set with the Muslims that occupy a portion of the Philippines? Muslims are not proponents of birth control or limitations on family size, either.

The Mexican govt. is exceedingly anti-clerical, and these kinds of libels against nuns are like the blood-libels against Jews-- you know, the crap about killing Christian children and putting their blood into the Passover Matzoh --- politically-motivated moral defamation of the ugliest kind.
This happened in 1988 and was published in various national newspapers.
