This is the saddest day of my life. I can't even wrap my mind around the horror of what happened last night in Orlando, where 50 joyful dancing queers were murdered by a religious extremist. I'm sad -- devastated, in my soul -- about that; but I'm also sad that the events of Orlando have shattered my political beliefs, as I can no longer swear allegiance to a peace-love-and-unicorns progressive philosophy that only helps to get my fellow queers killed.
Yes, there is a war between religious fundamentalism and the spirit of love and tolerance. But we progressives here in America still labor under the delusion that the religion we need to combat is Christianity. But that's a strawman opponent, and has been so for decades. Since the 1990s, Christian extremists have essentially lost all their power, and are now toothless nonplayers in the "culture wars." Meanwhile, Muslim extremists, with guns, murder us, and on the left our only response is to bleat about "Islamophobia" and jump through hoops trying to explain away the self-evident religious motivation for the killings...

He fears Christians will make him feel bad himself by teaching Christ’s moral law (which always was “extreme” by the devil’s standards). But he’s rightfully afraid that Muslims feel they have the relgious imperative that Christians do not: to slaughter queers wholesale. Sweet irony.

No he doesn’t fear Christians he does not like that they do not agree with his lifestyle . They deep down know that their lifestyle is wrong and they do not like to hear that just like everyone else they need to repent.
Appeasing Muslims is their top priority, period.
The more they appease Muslims, the more they validate Muslim violence. Obama was right when he said that this attack is our fault--it is the fault of every person who backs down and cowers in the face of violence.

that certain “groups” in society tend to vote against “their”
best interests.... such as many Jews, Catholics, homosexuals, Latinos, and blacks especially...
I sense a common thread...these are “groups” with strong histories of persecution or exclusion or discrimination...
and certainly you see in the black and Jewish communities a certain significant amount of “self-hatred”...or maybe its akin to “stockholm syndrome”...where people learn to hate themselves and... in the more visible and extreme cases, work for their extinction....such as some Jews and blacks who are active supporters of enemy interests
I wonder if the D party control machine has tapped into this sort of ‘self hate’ or ‘Jewish Suicide Syndrome” — in all of the above “groups”....and possibly some additional groups, too? There may be a common (and quite powerful) psychiatric phenomenon going on... one that the D party bosses have, yes, nurtured so that they are now able to quite successfully manipulate large numbers of voting “Groups” to, mostly, vote against their interests (and for D candidates)?

I was thinking the same thing. Somewhere recently I saw a book that contained the phrase, ‘reality is a sandwich I didn’t order’.
I’m hoping that some of that realization dawns upon other groups, and they recognize that modern liberal politicians have only used them, never really cared about them.

You’re right. Any of us are at risk from islamofascist terror attacks, but those who they particularily hate (including jews, gays, etc) have a target on their backs.
One of the key issues we face is: will we have national leadership that realize we are in a war against these animals and fight it to win it, or will we have appeasement. And yes, I’m talking about the USA in 2016, not Britain in the last 1930s...
