I'm puzzled how this would be something that would be up to a public vote in the first place; is there something in the town charter that gives the public the ability to disapprove someone joining the community?
I'm all for taking voter anger out on elected officials, and certainly for electing a town council which won't hand out the public’s money for this, but - come on, effectively making voter generated banishment?
Sometimes you just have to live with the results of poor decisions by elected leaders.

Rutland has become quite the hell hole over the past ten years so it doesn’t surprise me that local leaders would accelerate the decline further by bringing in Mohammedans who have no intention of assimilating, and who would rather rape, kill and pillage. You get the government you deserve.
