The best way to help in the long term is to encourage them to become educated and self-reliant and to shun those who would seek to perpetuate the grievances of the past.
I highly recommend that these race zealots read their world history books and the Bible and see that many races and religions were enslaved for centuries, e.g., Jews, Christians, Chinese, etc. Hitler slaughtered six million Jews so I guess every Jew in the world should be marching and asking for reparations. Throughout history every time a group conquered another group, they enslaved people.

Our church just assembled back packs and school supplies for the “poor and needy” children in our area and handed them out this last Saturday. Without exception every mother who came in was Black, had several children, was texting or talking on an iPhone or similar device, drove a car several years newer than mine and none appeared to be dressed in anything resembling shabby. Several of the kids complained because the back packs weren’t a certain type and one of the mothers was overheard to tell her child to hush - they would get her the one she wanted later.
Our family has decided to help just our neighbors in the future as a couple of the husbands/fathers have recently lost their jobs.
I’m old enough to remember when Patty Hearst’s dad decided to make ‘reparations’ in order to get his beloved daughter back from the charming urban guerilla Donald Defreeze. What occurred was one of the first of many incidents of inner city blacks embarrassing themselves in grabbing cash and food out of the poor man’s hand as - if I remember correctly - he stood on the back of a flatbed truck.
I know a few ‘white’ people that are desperately out of work and facing the prospect of living on the streets or in shelters. They could also use funds for car repairs, bus fare, etc.
I also know quite a few black people who are doing really well in their jobs, completing their education or remodeling their homes.
Why is this a black v. white thing?

This is great, democraps and liberals are the reason black people are still mired in poverty, and who is likely to give money to such a scheme... well Democraps and liberals, so in a sense the people who actually DO owe reparations are paying them ;)
