It’s all conjecture and doesn’t really belong here.
They have contests where the readers submit their guesses based on a series of clues. The answers are pretty good and can be pretty funny. The contests run until a contest is solved. They mine the readers for tips.
NE does the same on a larger scale. They pay for tips to people in the service industry who come into contact with celebrities. They run a teaser story and let it be known they pay for legit information (dirt).
Democrats (low-information voters) get their news from places like the Enquirer.

Several journalists either claimed, or strongly hinted, that they have video of Cruz going into a hotel with a woman other than his wife, and that the Rubio campaign was involved. More than likely they ended up sitting on it for October.
I was not/am not a Ted Cruz fan, but the Enquirer hit piece on him did not impress me at all.
