The disrespect for America shown by some NFL players has given Donald Trump supporters a chance to vote early and they are taking it.
Another NFL week has passed and the boycott of viewers has actually picked up steam. By one account, available data shows a 30% drop in viewership for Monday nights game between Somebody and Who cares?
Naturally the leftists in sports writing are telling us its the bland product or the movement to appliances they cant track that are causing the steep drop in viewership and blah blah blah; anything but the truth. Apparently, sports writers missed the fact that Forty Niners quarterback and Black Lives Matter fan Colin Kaepernick was roundly booed by Buffalo fans both before and during the game last Sunday.
To keep up their assignment from the Ministry of Information they are forced to dance around the truth; and the truth in their cell is tougher to deny.
Since they wont ask them, here are the answers to the questions they should be asking.
Who watches NFL games; who are Trumps supporters and how to they lineup?
NFL games are watched by fans who are 70% over 35; 78% White and 59% make less than $75,000 a year.
Men are slightly over-represented in the NFL fans demographics when compared to women, with 55% of the total 150 million strong demographic being male.
The annual income of 26% of NFL fans is $40,000 or less.
The 55+ age demographic is the largest percentage of the NFL fans demographics at 37%. Another 34% of NFL fans are in the 35-54 age demographic.
And social media? The NBA finals averages 26.7 million tweets over the course of a 4-7 game final. In comparison, the Super Bowl in just one game generates over 26 million tweets...

I have not watched one game this year, and don’t plan to ever again.

Or else football comes off even worse. 2 seconds of the quarterback throwing and ten minutes of yakking.
Except 99% of the time there’s nothing done by the other people. The vast majority of baseball is waiting for the pitcher and catcher to decide what to throw, most of the time the batter doesn’t touch it, and often even when they do touch it the play ends in just a couple more seconds (foul, caught and out) with not much happening.
The average NFL play takes 8 seconds and 22 players all do something. The average MLB play takes under 2 seconds, and 3 guys do something (although there’s a good chance one of those guys just watch the ball go by). Baseball has its beauty, but that beauty is not in the action.
As I recall, my ticket to Super Bowl IX was around $17. The winning Steelers were paid $15,000 per man. The Vikings, $7,500.
Today’s players wouldn’t leave their house for $15,000, never mind play a game!
Those are fast BB games. They’ve been running closer to 3 1/2 hours in the playoffs, and that’s without the Yankees playing the BoSox.
Yeah, I am sticking with hockey.
How low can it go?? Keep turning it off and don’t buy any merchandise either.
Those stats definitely include commercials, without commercials no sport takes 3 hours, as anybody that’s watched minor league anything knows. I love hockey, I’m just saying 50% action in baseball is never gonna happen. And your own chart agrees.
You are right, still, more then football. :)
