It’s a once GREAT league for a STILL GREAT sport.
It has truly dampened my desire to watch the game I love.
Surprised though how so many FReepers dont watch football.

The problem with the NFL, at least to me, is that in the modern game there doesn’t seem to be a way for the cool players to self police the jerk players. So you get fruity celebration dances and chest slapping displays over routine plays. The NFL had to come up with lame rules to discourage the worst of that garbage behavior because each game is so important and the modern penalty system and replay seemingly doesn’t allow cool players self police the jerks. And in the case of NFL, the sport only became more popular after the swishy celebrations and hulk poses became the norm. Which makes sense if you look around at popular culture.
It takes tremendous amount of sacrifice, skill and athletic ability to play pro football, but some aspects of it are pretty far from manly, in my opinion.

I had been a Green Bay Packers fan since I was 6 when they won the World Championship, pre-Superbowl.
I haven’t watched any games this season.
If they don’t like the nation they are the National Football League of, I can’t support them any longer.
A "man's sport"? Maybe when they are actually playing but 90% of the game is watching people stand around yakking like Millennials in a coffee shop.
10 seconds of playing, 10 minutes of yakking.
At least in basketball and baseball play is actually happening at least 50% of the time.
Of course none of them compare to the only REAL sport, Hockey!
