Thank you for your insightful question.
My you do have such a Christian view of refugees.
I wouldn't wish that fate on my worst enemy.
I believe you on this but I always have trouble believing EVERYTHING that the lamestream media says. They DO tell us what they want us to believe.
Who the HECK knows what really goes on. One would have to BE there or know someone for the truth. I've read/heard SO many lies from our media that I stop listening to their garbage for a while.
We ALL know who wears the black/white hats as far at the media is concerned. It's not hard to figure out.
Oh THANK YOU for your insightful comment, "pal."
Lol.
Another insightful comment. THANK you.
“My you do have such a Christian view of refugees. I wouldn’t wish that fate on my worst enemy.”
LOL. You flipped that around completely!!
Why not invite a pile of refugees into YOUR home to demonstrate *your* Christianity brotherhood?
I am neither naive nor notsobrillant.
I am generou$ and contribute to the plethora of Catholic charities.
I even "did" duty at our local St. Anthony's kitchen one Christmas. That would be where the down and out can get a free meal. It's run by the Catholic Church,
as are SO many orphanages,
homes for the elderly,
homes for the terminally ill (Catholics had the first places for AIDS patients to die.)
homes for unwed mothers,
missionaries abroad who also EDUCATE and teach folks to be independent.
Our church parishioners also makes bag lunches for the St. Vincent de Paul homeless shelter, every fourth Sunday of every month.
There is also a "giving" tree every Christmas where the poor have a "wish" gift and WE parishioners pick the tag from the tree, buy the gift, wrap it up and bring it back to the Christmas giving tree.
Easy for some folks to pile on scorn to those who have less. NOT so easy to feel pity and THEN put the money where the mouth is.
Finally, the Catholic Church can afford to do this because the priests, nuns, brothers and friars voluntarily do God's work for nothing but room and board (except priests who take no vow of poverty). They do the "work" that our government doesn't do without ALL THE STRINGS in the world attached to that VERY limited help.
Since the Catholic Church gives FREELY, it's impossible for anyone to cheat. Can't beat that either.
NO ONE can match that kind of dedication.
90% [might be 95%] of all donated monies to such charities such as the Red Cross, Wounded Warriors, etc., go to the administrative costs of running said "charity." Its the reverse, of course, for the Catholic charities and there are THOUSANDS of them all over this planet.
It's no big deal as we are only doing what Jesus TOLD us to do: feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, give shelter...and so on.
Does ANY of that ring a bell for you?
