I found her in her bed. She was my best friend for 51 years. It's barely been 5 hours. All prayers appreciated.
I lost my dear wife of 30 years and then my dad 3 months later. At the time I wasn’t sure I would recover but now it’s coming up on 2 years and the days are much brighter. The Lord was close and helped me so much and a loving church is very helpful too. Hang in there and don’t give up crying out to The Lord who will heal and comfort.
How can we offer comfort at a time like this? Words fail. How very fortunate to have loved her for so long. Hope you have someone with you in the next days ahead.
Father of all mercies and God of all consolation,
you pursue us with untiring love
and dispel the shadow of death
with the bright dawn of life.
Give courage to this family in their loss and sorrow.
Be Mama Shawna’s refuge and strength, O Lord,
reassure her of your continuing love
and lift her from the depths of grief
into the peace and light of your presence.
My husband, brothers, my boys. Thank you. We never had the adversarial relationship that so many mothers and daughters have had. We were always best friends. I will miss her. Like I said, still in shock, it’s only been hours, I’m sure the next days/weeks will be a lot harder.

I am so very sorry. Will send prayers. May Gd comfort you as He comforts all mourners. I lost Dad this year. It’s very hard.
