I grew up in Stockbridge MA, knew some of the “extras” on the movie set of Alice’s Restaurant, and was even arrested once for speeding in 1967 by Officer Obie who played himself in the movie. Nice guy. That song was so effective and perfect in that movie for many reasons.
Ha. Since you were in the area back then, wonder if by chance you caught James Taylor’s free concert in Amherst in 1969.
I’ve seen Arlo Guthrie perform twice and James Taylor once. They were very good. One of my brother’s in law is an actor in community theatre and was able to get us tickets somehow. Fortunately, he and his family have moved to Florida.
