“Appoint an interim acting ________________.”

This is absolutely the best course of action. Hold your ground and put your first choice in as ‘acting’ secretary.

His picks won’t be defeated. Ask another stupid question.

Why? Sessions now has 1000 lawyers and NAACP against him. And both McCain and Graham don’t like him.

All they need is one more RINO and there’s a problem. It’s certainly a possibility.

Pretty worthless premise.

All of Trumps cabinet picks will be confirmed. You watch too much TV.

That that is a defeatist mindset.

Well, considering that Rush, Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and others have talked about the possibility, guess that leaves me in good company.

But my question was really a hypothetical about what happens if Trump just refuses to nominate a new person if the first one is defeated?

How does that agency function?

Can Trump run it directly?

Nominate another one.
-------------------------------------------------------

But the premise is this.

What would happen if Trump said "I picked the absolute best person to be Attorney General. Anyone else would be second best. And if I nominated someone else, they would know they were second best. And I wouldn't put anyone in that position." And then he just leaves the position vacant to see who blinks first. Of course this could apply to any Cabinet Secretary, not just the AG.

The question is what if he just doesn't nominate a 2nd person?

What happens?

I say one should plan to win, not to be defeated - Trump will never tap you to be one of his advisers....and

If Trump is the leader I think he is, he’s planned for EVERY possibility.

And considering that Rush, Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and others have talked about the possibility, guess that leaves me in good company.

But you missed my point that this was really a hypothetical about what happens if Trump just refuses to nominate a new person if the first one is defeated?

Rush, Hannity and Carlson gin up excitement so people will keep tuning in.

Two short days of confirmation hearings, a quick vote and Sessions will be at his desk at the DOJ.

And I will return to rub your face in it. LOL!

Nominate someone ever scarier...which wouldn’t be hard, because no sane person is afraid of Jeff Sessions.

Except the corrupt.

A lot of people missed the point of the post. As I said it was a hypothetical, not about any nominee in particular. I’m hoping everyone gets confirmed.

Just what would happen if a nominee was rejected and Trump refuses to nominate a new one, saying the first one was the best one for the job and calls their bluff.

What is the procedure for a cabinet post that’s left unfilled?

Who runs the department?
