THE CLOCK IS TICKING ON GOP CONGRESS

The GOP failures during the George W. Bush years contributed to the victory of the most liberal President of all-time, Barack Obama. This time, Republicans need to deliver on their mandate or they will be sent packing by the American people

In early 2009, conservative activists started meeting across the country to organize the first Tea Party rallies and express their opposition to the liberal agenda of President Barack Obama. Activists were most concerned about the biggest component of the President’s agenda: the socialized healthcare plan formally known as the Affordable Care Act, but referred to as Obamacare.

The GOP has no incentive to end obamacare or do anything else constructive more than a few unimportant and showy things. If they lose their elections in 18 they will go straight to more highly paid positions as lobbyists of, for the more well known, figurehead positions in corporations. If they push Trump’s program they lose their Chamber of Commerce derived campaign and other funds and lose that lobbyist easy chair backup. It does not make financial sense for a Congressman of either house to expedite anything that looks like shrinking government.

I’m afraid that if the GOP successfully stalls and aborts Trump’s programs which I expect them to do, The2018 elections will return the should-be-defunct Democrat Party to Congressional control, perhaps both houses.

Repeal. Do not replace. Repeal Obamacaare then repeal all other Federal contact with Medicine and Insurance. Return it to the market and more people will have access and Medicine will be far better and cheaper. Get the feds out especially to giving companies and individuals tax breaks on employer health insurance. That actually raises prices, as any government interference will do.

McConnell wants to see these appointees confirmed as much as the Democrat do. Trump should bypass Congress and appoint “czars.” I believe there is a precedent for that.

Republicans have been replaced several times with “more conservative” challengers and those more conservative challengers become company men within days or even hours of assuming their Congressional seats. They are presented with the possibility of lifetime wealth if they work hard for the Company and don’t make waves or embarrass the Democrats and alternatively they are given to know that their future campaigns will have no outside funds and their income will be limited to their salaries and will end when they leave office.I think we are too far gone for the conservative electorate to believe they can change anything in DC. Either the GOP has to “get religion” or Trump has to pull a Napoleon or we are right back to Progressive Utopia and the next chapter of that story has no end.
