Schwarzenegger Considered Contender For CA US Senate Seat
Red State ^ | March 9, 2017 | Scott Hounsell

Pay higher taxes. Watch Rachel Maddow. Colonoscopy. See Trump naked.

These are things on the list of stuff I would rather do than have Arnold Schwarzenegger as a US Senator.

It was reported today in Politico that the Former-Governor of the Golden State is being considered as a viable candidate to run for Senate for the projected-vacant seat of Dianne Feinstein. Feinstein will be 38,324 years old in 2018 (kidding, she will be 85), is expected to retire. With Trump in the White House, no democrat is looking forward to the prospect of sitting in a minority party seat in the Senate.

“Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger — the “Terminator” action hero who made “I’ll be back” one of filmdom’s most iconic phrases — may be mulling a political comeback, according to several GOP political insiders in California.

The prospect of Schwarzenegger’s return to elected politics in a 2018 U.S. Senate run — possibly as an independent — is generating increasing buzz in state Republican circles, fueled by the former governor’s seeming ability to get under the skin of President Donald Trump on social media.

The president’s caustic tweets about Schwarzenegger, the recent host of “Celebrity Apprentice,” and their running feud has sparked talk that the intensely competitive Schwarzenegger — a seven-time Mr. Olympia world bodybuilding champ — may be interested in more than merely a verbal posedown with Trump.” I myself, am not a fan of Trump, but the old “enemy of my enemy is my friend” saying definitely doesn’t apply here. Schwarzenegger was a disaster of a Governor. He destroyed the Republican Party on his way out the door. He landed us with AB 32 (Global Warming bill), Prop 14 (Top Two Primary – eliminating GOP candidates from contention for several races), and played political favors with the father of a murderer in arranging for the commuting of his sentence.

He saddled us with debt and higher deficits, raised our taxes, and gave us the political atmosphere that has given us Jerry “Coo Coo for Choo Choo” Brown, Gavin “Douche-om” Newsom, and Kevin “Shut up Woman” De Leon. Not only is what he’s done to the state unforgivable, he’s been unapologetic about it.

Arnold… Get to the Choppa. You’re not wanted here. We hope we don’t see you at the party, Richter. Consider this the Divorce. You’re Fired. We won’t “Chill”. Hasta La Vista. Don’t Be Back.

“I hear you, but California has become so liberal, so Democrat, that the alternative will be just another liberal Democrat.”

Much truth to your statement. My sister has lived in CA since the late 60’s. She is a died in the wool Republican - so she claims. To hear her talk, you’d swear she’s a democrat. She actually believes in global warming. She thought Arnie as governor was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

The only thing that comes close to her being Republican is that she knows illegal immigration is killing California. She therefore supports Trump.

Ah-nold, you are no Ronald Reagan. I know the California Republican Party is dead, but Ah-nold is NOT the answer.

Well, he does have the perfect moral character to run for Senator.

I voted for Arnie for Governor. I think he could be elected Senator, which would give us another ‘R’ in the Senate. That being said, I doubt he would vote with the ‘Rs’ very often. But it is a sure bet no Dem would ever vote with the “Rs’. Maybe they could draft Tom Selleck or James Woods to run....or Kelsey Grammer or Robert Davi or Scott Baio. Anyone else have any other celebrity Republican ideas?

Yeah, Ahnold was a great governor — for about two weeks.

I agree. On organizational matters, and given how far left the California Democrats are, probably more often than any of them. But Ahnold is a big-time RINO.
