Today we are witnessing one of the most important events in political history. But you probably cant see it because the news is talking about healthcare, and how Ryan and Trump totally failed to get enough votes.
The real story is happening in parallel with the healthcare story, and thats what renders it invisible. Something enormous is happening that has nothing to do with anything you are seeing in the news. In fact, youll probably read it here for the first time.
Im dragging this out to see if you can guess the big news before I tell you. It is something I predicted would happen. It is something the country needs MORE than healthcare. It was, until yesterday, perceived as the biggest problem in the United States, if not the entire world.

Trump is no longer Hitler in the minds of liberals and the fake news media.
Ironically enough, the death of RINOCare made Trump look human.
Ryan lost. Bigly.
If Obamacare is still standing next election cycle, pity the congressman who is associated with the Freedom Caucus.
That’s the gist of the article. Adams claims it changes the argument from Trump-is-Hitler to Trump is incompetent. And that’s a good thing. Delusional. Not one of his better articles.
Though since “human” these days is measured by what progressives are I’d rather they think I’m inhuman.
Pelosi is already calling the Pres a ‘rookie’ president. This theme will probably also prevail. IMO
As someone who was not an early Trump supporter but saw enough of him up close over the years to understand how he operates, I can guarantee tha he had no interest in seeing Ryan’s bill passed despite all of his public posturing.
Dave Brat will be re-elected.
Bank on it.
We are thrilled to be rid of the weasel Eric Cantor.
Ah, but note that Adams also predicts that the Trump meme soon will be converted from “incompetent” to “competent”. I believe that and I also think adams is right that it would not have been possible (or at least much harder) to go directly from “Trump = Hitler” to Trump = competent” than via “Trump = incompetent”.
The fact that Pelosi already is in line with the new meme shows that Adams is right so far. (And it is also shows that Pelosi is as dumb as a bag full of rocks - but we knew that!)
I see Scott’s point. Impressed at DJTs reaction to this defeat. It shows that he is not of childish temperament, nor ready to seek revenge on those deserving. A smaller person would be out ‘preaching’, lecturing the public as well as congress telling all of the doom and gloom which would befall them due to this failure.
Dare it be said that DJT is actually listening to God’s Will and plans for AMERICA?
Two tumbs up if he succeeds in stifling the cries of Hitlerism, dictatorship, Socialism. Those who cry ‘incompetent’ will be doomed to eat their words.
Donald Trump is neither Hitler nor incompetent. The world is, to use a term once associated with Dubya-43, “misunderestimating” Donald Trump. He is playing a very sophisticated game of 3-D chess, while everybody else is fooled into thinking it is just a game of checkers.
Like an eagle poised atop a thermal spiral that spots a prize in the lake, Trump plunges down in a swoop, and snatches the trout from just beneath the surface of the water, and bears the capture back to roost to feast upon it at leisure.
The Walrus is Paul (Rino).

All true, but Adams’s piece is not about what Trump is, but how he is perceived by his political adversaries.
Nancy Pelosi has presided over the collapse of the Democrat Party on a national level. If U.S. politics was the NFL, then Donald Trump would be like an undrafted rookie who won the starting QB job and led his team to the Super Bowl ... while Nancy Pelosi would be like the Heisman Trophy winner and #1 draft pick who was cut by the team in his first training camp and ended up getting a job as the team’s assistant to the assistant equipment manager.
We will see how much that perception matters.
I’m of the belief that the Dems would be saying the exact same things about any republican president, no matter what his last name was. They have become like spoiled children, used to getting their way if not through crooked voting, then through compliant judges. We will see. I am not celebrating anything just yet.
I may not always agree with him, but Adams is always worth reading. He examines things and offers opinion far outside of conventional thought and I will be the first to admit that he is often correct when you examine it in hindsight despite your skepticism and disbelief when you first read it.
My respect for his writing has grown immeasurably through the election cycle. He possesses a rare mind and insight that does not fit within the dominant box that usually steers our conversation.
He may be correct here. The world did not come apart today and life continues. On the surface Trump did not get what he wanted, yet he calmly moved on to the next thing leaving the congress mired in its own dysfunction. In fact, one might say Trump simply shrugged. That does speak to the country and certainly does not make one think of a dictatorial madman.
Adams is saying it’s good _for_Trump_.
It sound like you didn’t read the whole article!
“Trump is incompetent” is just a transition point from “Trump is Hitler” in a dynamic “persuasion process” where the next stage is “Trump is competent”.
He claims that transition point will occur this summer.
Adams has interesting arguments! I read it shake my head and say to myself “This can’t be!”. However so far he seems to be on to something with this “persuasion “ just look at what already has happened!
