No, I think thorvaldr was saying we’ve been at war for 16 years and there’s been no economic collapse due to those wars so the premise of the article could be called into question. I think the article, however, is talking about potentially HUGE wars not wars like we’ve had since 2001.

I would have preferred we didn’t try to impose a central government on a country of tribesmen who don’t want one. A much smarter and effective strategy would have been to play one tribe off against another as we did initially.
