Yes, but our single most fearsome (upfront) enemy was Iraq. How did that go? We crushed Iraq in a matter of days. We’ve had more protracted fights with terrorists, of course, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc.
This article is talking about much larger wars than against Al-Qaeda or ISIS. A war with Russia, or China, or North Korea or Iran, or two or more at one time could be a huge and bloody disaster. We are woefully unprepared and, as a people, we simply do not have the will to fight much of anyone. We can lob tomahawks at tin horn dictators, but a real war where hundreds of thousands of troops might get involved, whole fleets of ships, we are just not ready for that.
A war with any of the countries I listed would make Iraq and Afghanistan look like a cake walk.

Oh REAL wars! It’s ridiculous to think that Trump is going to want to fight Russia or China. Definitely less of a concern than if Clinton had won.
