President Trump Speaks The Words We Long To Hear: “MASSIVE TAX CUTS!”

In an interview with the Associated Press on Friday, President Trump said his tax reform package would be unveiled “Wednesday or shortly thereafter” and it will include a “massive tax cut.” He went on to say it will be “bigger than, I believe, any tax cut ever.”

Surely, if this is the case Trump’s popularity would sky rocket. It would be a great move to come before hi 100th day in office, which will be April 29. However, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin had set a goal of passing tax reform by August, but unfortunately the deadline was delayed due to the struggles over the repeal of Obamacare.

Before any tax reform can pass, the government must stay open. Lawmakers are to return to Washington on Tuesday to pass legislation to keep the government funded and open. Current spending expires at midnight on April 28, and Republicans have said they plan to attempt to pass a health care overhaul next week.

I wish. Massive tax cuts means massive job losses of government employees and massive reductions in payouts to entitlements. This will not help the economy, unless lots of jobs return to the private sector.

Problem is that, ignoring the Laffer curve for a moment, reducing taxes is the same thing as the government taking a cut in pay. And the government is so up to its eyeballs in debt that it would be like a family in the same condition taking a big income cut. Massive austerity is in order.

Get ready for the whining about how his tax cuts help the rich more than the poor.

Hopefully he can handle it better than GWB.

Rest:

We are looking at a fast paced and explosive week coming up…in more ways than one.

Trump said on Thursday he was optimistic about the “very, very good” agreement that looked to be coming together between congressional conservatives and moderates on repealing Obamacare. He further added he did not think it would interfere in the passing a spending bill.

I pray President Trump is correct in what he is saying. Put on your seat belt, and hang on for the ride of your life, America. Next week will be it!

President Trump said he would release new details about his plan to overhaul the tax code on Wednesday, April 26. But it’s still unclear exactly what will be in the plan. Economist and former Trump adviser Stephen Moore joins CBSN to discuss what could be in the plan why President Trump and the Republican party is facing a lot of pressure to get it done.

Not to veer off topic, but what does anyone know about NRSC? (National Republican Senatorial Committee, I think)

Are they a scam? I get frequent calls from them soliciting money to help republicans win so they can do this or that and the reps are extremely rude.

My latest run in was me telling them I wouldn’t give them any money until they pass Trump’s tax cut plan. Immediately I was uninformed, republicans have worked very hard, haven’t had control, blah blah blah.

Parting line from the chick before she hung up on me was basically, haha jokes on you, the RNC paid for this call.

Anyone else have a bad experience and are they really affiliated with Republicans? They have my name and cell phone number so must have gotten a list from some past volunteering or donating for republican party.

"Trump said on Thursday he was optimistic about the “very, very good” agreement that looked to be coming together between congressional conservatives and moderates on repealing Obamacare. He further added he did not think it would interfere in the passing a spending bill."

And notice, Paul Ryan's name wasn't mentioned, hmmmm.... Like a contract employee, his 90 day trial period is up, and it is time to make a decision as to if he stays or goes.

Do it Mr President, send the "go" signal that Paul Ryan needs to be fired. Being the gate keeper for the Uni-Party, aka the CoC, and by extension being Pro-Obamacare, Pro-Amnesty, and against scaling back the Federal Leviathan doesn't work for us anymore Paul.

It is way past time for him (Ryan) to get a new gig...

Best news would be: “Massive hiring spree expected.”

Do not give any money to the NRSC, the NRCC, or the RNC.
These are the same people who used donations from us deplorables to thwart the voters of Mississippi and re-elect the brain-dead, Thad Cochran.

Massive austerity is in order.

Yep, tax cuts are fine, but we have reached the point of having to do some major spending cuts, too. We can't continue spending $4 trillion+ and act like it won't have an effect on the economy. Government workers will lose their jobs, but so what? Many of those jobs aren't needed, anyway. If the economy is allowed to grow, I'm sure those ex-government types not near retirement age can find a job in the private sector.

The problem is that government workers buy stuff with their money. The government is so integrated into our economy that if they pull back, it would be like Amazon pulling back and what impact it would have on the Seattle economy, or the economy of all the small towns where they have fulfillment centers.

And imagine the unemployment rolls going up by a few million. We’re kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I think this is the reason for the push for the increased minimum wage. It creates price inflation and monetizes the debt, except that isn’t working either.
