Shortly after the presidential election, the Minneapolis City Council introduced and passed a resolution declaring "solidarity" with their Muslim community. Using the #resist narrative following the election of President Trump, it seems to also have been an attempt to deflect from the mass stabbing at the mall in St. Cloud which garnered national attention and again highlighted the violent tendencies of some Muslims in the population.

The Minneapolis metro area, despite all their lip service towards equality and other leftist tropes, is very much like other cities. Everybody (who can) is moving out to Bloomington - leftism is one thing, but actually living in that utopia is entirely another.
And once Bloomington becomes afflicted with its own leftist disease, well there's always 'West Bloomington' (the same way there's a 'West Des Moines'), etc. etc.
Anyway, its not just conservatives renting the moving vans. Most people fleeing Minneapolis are the very ones who built that nest.
